building muscles w/o weights

Hey, I am 17 years old, involved in sports, and I am looking for a way to build my muscles up without weights, or at least build them up kind of alot before I do lift weights since I have no access to any weights whatsoever, even at school.

I am especially looking for a way to build up my biceps, tricepts and pectoral muscles, and my abs.

I guess for your abs you could do countless crunches, and for the others push ups, but would those really build my muscles up to much at all, or basically just leave them how they are now.

I know theres alot of experienced people on here who know an answer or have advice, please post it. Thanks
 
Try training with basic routines as Chin-ups, Push ups, Hyperextension, Jumping Squat ......

but try join a gym or something, I wouldn't even call it bodybuilding without training with weights

Dude, what excercises can I do alot of without weights to gain weight. I mean, what would happen if I did like 400 push ups a day, would that hella build my upper body compared to how it is now?
 
well I don't really want to build myself up really big rigght now, in the future it would be nice, I just want to get in pretty good shape for an average skinny dude, get my arms and pecs bulked up and everything, not real big, but pretty big, how many push ups, crunches, chin ups, pull ups and everything else would you recoomend a day, to start bulding me up to shape fast?
 
Do push ups, Pull-ups (make a pull-up bar). Do several variations of pull ups (wide, close, reverse grip etc...).

A great thing to do is to do 10 pull-ups, then 10 push-ups, then 9 pull-ups, then 9 push-ups, until you get down to 1 and 1. This a great burnout I used to do whe I was training for shoot fighting.

Other than that. Go buy some gallon water jugs and put them on a long stick and curl them. I am sorry but weights are the only thing that really builds muscle.

If it was easier than that everyone would be huge.;)
 
You have to educate your self much much much much much much much much much more in Bodybuilding

what's going on this morning.... guys who wants to get big without suffering ? Dude i tried those push-ups and stuff and IT DOESNT WORK AT ALL !!! No weights no muscles !!!
 
Nickone, Do you think that everybody touch iron will gonna be huge!!
I know many guys who train very hard for over 4years and they just still as small as a peace of shit, you shouldn't think it by this way

yup.. buy fitness mags, men's health, muscle mag, etc.. read read read.

Smack yourself in the head 500 times a day and your triceps and biceps will start to bulk up. I am the same age as you and am built from using weights. Take your ass to wal mart and buy a weider pro or even just a bench set, and do the major bulking exercises like bench and straight bar curls. I have a feeling your not playing sports and your just trying to "look good", but if you play sports like me you are going to have a more rounded workout regimen like power cleans, deadlifts, and squats. Any workout you do will be better than what you are doing now...nothing. Ride a bike, do pushups, chinups are the shit. Good Luck
 
chin ups and pushups seem to be a good way to finish after heavy wieght reps for tris and bis, but you have to have the proper equipment first. weam is right do some basic research.
 
as stated, push-ups, pull-up, chin-ups, 8 count body builders, situps (crunches), mountain climbers. and there are many more that are effective. good diet is a great place to start.

no but for real you need to get some sort of weight resistance to build quility muscles, BUT you can make some good progress out of doing the standard push ups, pullups, trying doing some isometric shit for your arms.ect.. try putting heavy books in a book bag and do pushups and pullups with it on your back, do dips for triceps between 2 chairs... trust me you can get creative if you really want to.. just look at charles atlas. i mean he wasnt huge or anything but that man could get a full body workout with household appliances, even arnold gives him props.. so just use your imagination bro, good luck. WBD.
 
Yea man, I pretty much want to look better then I do now. I don't really want to get into weightlifing right now. I want to build my endurance and get more muscle toned then I am now, not necassarily build my muscles up real big. And I heard doing push ups and excersies like push ups world do this

I didnt mean that 400 times a day thing literally, just meant a shitload of push ups, gettin sore from em doin so much. Would that build your muscles?
 
wait..wait...all the time people post workout questions with nothing to do with anabolics on the anabolic discussion board...this must be a first...a question not even dealing with weights nor anabolics is on the anabolic discussion board...shouldn't this be on the chat board?

WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU HAVE NO ACCESS TO ANY WEIGHTS? ARE YOU TELLING ME YOU DON'T HAVE 1 GYM ANYWHERE AROUND YOU?
 
No I don't have 1 gym, with an hour of me, and I'm too busy during the day to drive and hour out and an hour back to workout with weights, when I'm not even concerned about the weights right now. I just kinda want to get semi built and build my endurance until I get into lifting in the future
 
what do you think dumbshit.=) just playin. Yes if you do pushups you will see results in your chest. Just give yourself a little break when your chest is sore. You have to break the muscle down, then let it rest and recover when it gets stronger. I myself like 3 years ago when i started working out was embarrassed to workout in front of people because i was so weak. I couldnt do 115 pounds for 1 rep in the bench. So i did a shit load of pushups for like 3 months. Now 3 years later i curl that now and my bench is up to 245. Anything is possible if you put your mind to it. MP
 
hey mp, when you did the 3 months of pushups, did you notice alot of change in your chest and arms? well not alot but like, any change in size?
 
WHERE AT IN CALIFORNIA DO YOU LIVE? I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THERE IS NOT 1 GYM WITHIN AN HOUR OF YOU. I THINK YOUR JUST TRYING TO GET OUT OF LIFTING.
 
Get a job on a farm and lift bales of hay and feedbags and general hard work. I had a friend who never touched a weight in his life and was in better shape and a lot stronger then others who spent time in the gym. There are physical jobs that will build you up pretty good while providing a paycheck.
 
I've known alot of young guys who went the tons of push-ups route, and most of them ended up with the gorilla-posture-pulled-forward shoulder syndrome. This is because they were spending a massive amount of time training the pecs, and no time at all training the antagonist muscles (rhomboids, rear delts, external rotators).

Even if you just want to get "toned", for complete balanced development you are gonna have to pump some iron.
 
Nick, yes i definitely started to see a change in body shape when i did pushups out my ass ! OK, it is a chain reaction, you will see your best gains when you first start for like the first months, your so happy that you tell yourself " shit if i can gain this much off of pushups, what if I lift weights" =). the progress will make you want to gain more and more, so you will train 10 times harder trying to look better. Hope this inspires you. the eventually you will move along to weights. good luck
 
Use one of those machines with the electrical pads...

Seems to be how Paul Dillet got so big (at least thats what the ad says) haha

and to keep that hard earned muscle drink atleast 2 protein shakes daily. RADAR
 
I personaly think that if you are under 20. You should not even think about using gear. 20 or 21 is about when you should start since your body has just about stopped growing. I'm not saying you stop getting big, it's just safer to wait:)
 
Bro where do you live....Antartica..Save your money buy a gym membership..ride you bike there and Train...I started at 15 and am now 29 those early years help alot.....
 
i used to do the same thing in high school, note that you won't add good size without hitting weights, only lean gains, and trust me ITS TOUGH!
 
Hey man. Go to the kitchen, get your moms broom and break the fucking broom part off. Then get two heavy objects, use your imagination (concrete blocks, bags of sand, whatever) and put them on each end.


Do standing curls. military presses, use the corner of your bed for bench presses (hang your head off the corner)....and do like a thousand reps of each a day LOL

You can also use Gallon jugs full of water, they weigh around 8lbs each so fill several up, tie them together by the handles, and voila! you have dumbbells for fly's etc.

You have to use weight to grow, push ups aint gonna get it done. It also sounds like you need to be eating constantly....not junk, whole foods, and lots of them.

Do Dips, Push-ups, Pull-ups, Chin-ups, leg raises, sit-ups, RUN, Also if you can do upside down push-ups for your shoulders.
 
bacala is right, hershel walker claimed before when he was real big that he never lifted a weight in his life, but he gain great size from work on the farm. If you don't want to use weights, you better do alot of stretching, use your body weight for push-ups sit-ups dips pull-up, squats with your own weight,etc. I would also do alot of swimming and running in the water. But you should really get into weight training

its all relative, i used to do around 120 and saw people doing 175+ pushups in one set.(and i am not talking about half way cheating ones here) So, 400 is not such a big number. You wont get huge on those, but you defenitly can improve your condition and develop a decent punching speed(if you into boxing or Ma).
 
www.mattfurey.com, this might have what you're looking for. I don't know what type of conditioning you're looking for. I think this is for functional combat strength for wrestling and related sports
 
You need to go to some fuckin womens ballay classes if you dont want to get big, quit wasting these peoples time with stupid questions!!!! This is a anabolic board, you want to know how to get big w/out working out .Give me a fucking break. Sometimes I see the dumbest questions on here.
