Buenos Aires - who has been?

What was it like?

Was it a nasty dump like Athens Greece is? Was a cheap/poor like Mexico?

What did you do there? What is the appeal? How long did you stay and would you go back?

Fuck we are suppose to have a meeting with a client there and the boss wants to stay a few extra days.

I went to BA last year for 9 days and it was a really good time. Is it nasty? - I would say for the most part no but there is a LOT of poverty and it is amazingly cheap compared to U.S. (Big gap between classes). When I went the rate was 3:1 making everything very cheap. Huge dinners with wine, steak, appetizers, desserts, and cocktails never come out to me more than say $60 at the MOST. They eat steak (lomo) almost ever meal it seems.

Lots of cool things to see, places to eat and go shopping (You can get designers suits for really cheap and fitted over night. Wine is really big there so some cool wine bars. Actually some really fun nightlife as well. Also a great spa there that only caters to men and has some interesting services.

I know that just touches the surface but I can answer some more if you need info. I wish work would pay for me to go there! LOL

What did you do that summer?

Hell, every Argentinia that I have met from there is scurvy and weird. Burnando is from there. (which actually after he got his lust for my partner turned out to be an ok guy.)

i got a pretty good tour of the whole country, i'd rather check out chile, peru or brazil.
BA is set up different than stateside cities. The hood, rather than being the inner city, is outside the city, ringing the city. So everything in town is pretty nice.

i think it would be...proly a 6 hour flight from BA? something like that.
it was expensive when i went there cause the peso was pegged at the dollar...so for one dollar you got one peso. and everything pretty much cost the same as here...food, beer, drugs, etc all about the same.
except peeps in argentina don't pay taxes, they scam every chance they get.
so w.o tax things are a bit cheaper, but the infastructure suffers big time, which you will notice.
now they've devauled the peso, so possibly things are a bit cheaper

I thought everything was very cheap compared to US prices. Some things like hotels mights still be expensive though. I rented an apartment while there and saved a lot of money.

restraunts always served bottled water.
and a tip of advice, never compare mexico to argentina.
argentinans are arrogant and think of the mexicans as low class scum...you're not gonna find burritos, tacos, or sombreros in argentina.
i made the mistake of assuming that all south america was like mexico, not the case
