H, really- i'm sure it has nothing to do with her family being well off. mine was, and i've said that here in a number of ways (from before I was a mod).
others here too.

i really feel its the attitude, not the content. i know you empathize with her (which i can totally understand) so it's probably hard for you to see clearly.

I see how some of her retorts piss people off. I'm not completely blind to it. I just think she has some faults but is a good person.
 
I think it was the attitude originally displayed in her "window tint" thread where she labeled policemen "peons", and thought the law didn't apply to her. Hubris.

i dont now anything about her either i just give people the benefit of the doubt. but i have seen people on here bring out the worsed in others and then stand back and go "see, i told ya so".

Silly girl. I tried to tell her that I still feel a strong sense of defending and lambasting any strong anti-female rhetoric. She told me, "YOU NEED TO CHILL AND GET OVER IT."

So as far as I am concerned - I am just standing on the curb waving as the traffic goes by. The worst thing that I have said to her is, "You are not very bright... are you?"

And I stand by that assessment.

There was a thread started by someone poking fun at Jenna Jameson's recent cosmetic choochie surgery went awry story. I thought the thread was pretty funny till Ms Psyche chimed in. that is where my lack of empathy began for this girl. Long thread. Print it out and take it to the crapper... LOL

i hate when a chat or text message comes across wrong. i have sent text's and had the person blast back and when i re-read the origional text i was like oh shit.

not saying thats whats happening to her i have not read her posts yet. i just try to keep the peace is all.
 
Okay, being completely honest here. I saw the cop thread, which I didn't agree with her about. I saw the Jenna Jameson thing, which I stated that I didn't agree. I sort of see why she would annoy some peeps, but she doesn't seem to be hateful, mean, selfish, etc. She seems young and a bit protected from the outside world to me, but good at heart.

She has ZERO sense of how her words/behavior affect other people. Instead of eating a little humble pie when she clearly comes off like AN ASS - she tells those peeps, "YOU NEED TO GET OVER IT AND CHILL."

So, I will just keep reiterating that she should just learn to take her own advice. :)

Certain things people have said I understand...but I really think calling her intelligence into question serves no purpose but to be hurtful.

No - not at all. I am not trying to hurt her feelings. I have given her kudos over and over again for finishing undergrad - something that I never did.

But her lack of ability to be more circumspect clearly illustrates a lack of intelligence on her part.

Sorry if I sound harsh, but I am calling it like I see it. You can agree to disagree and WE will still be cool. :heart:

I have never once said that she was evil or malicious... just not very bright.

Then you follow it saying insulting things about how education isn't everything (which I agree with but you explicitily say it to try to be nasty) or that I am pretty unintelligent for someone with an undergrad degree who lacks a lot of real world experience etc etc - you always counter something nice w/ something mean...

Uhm, last I checked, saying "you need to get over it and chill," isn't insulting you. I never said anything to degrade your character or intelligence. And why are you the only woman on here who is getting her panties in a bunch about this?

When you COMMAND anyone to do anything it IS insulting and degrading of my station in life/my character AND my intelligence as the implication is that you are somehow above me or better than me. <---- was it ONLY ME who has been saying this about you?

And you have NO IDEA how many women on this board, veterans and newer members alike, share the same opinion. I am just the one who is most bored for the moment.

I think that with anything I say, you can turn it into being negative or mean. That was not what I was doing. Telling someone to chill or relax IMO, is not degrading them so that was not what I was doing to you.

Many women laughed at this joke as well - but whatever. I see your point and we will agree to disagree. I hold a different opinion. To me, what's more degrading than that joke, are the women who actually DEGRADE THEMSELVES and other females by participating in porn so millions can see them on camera.

When you COMMAND SOMEONE you are degrading them.

Here is an example:

"Sit down and shut up"

or

"Please take a seat and be quiet."

Both statements are essentially saying the same thing but will be received quite differently. Do you see what I am saying?

As for porn - I began my statement that I am not a supporter of the industry AT ALL. The fact that you thought it was "less offensive" to use that particular MYTH designed purely to devalue women because it was made in reference to a porn star is what REALLY put me off. Not that I would want any of my daughter to EVER earn a living that way, but it would make them no less human if they did. You still didn't get it.

The joke was NOT funny even though you said it in reference to some "lowly piece of scum pornstar". I dont know any porn stars so that is not MY OPINION but your comments seem to indicate that this is what you feel and if that is - that is YOUR RIGHT as it is the right of anyone who feels it is ok to ridicule Jews, old people, mentally retarded people - or any other group of people.

I get particularly offended (as I have explained to you ad nauseum) because one of the main reasons I was asked to moderate this site (as I did for many years before you were here) was to draw and DEFEND WOMEN. Ok, I don't find this offensive but I see how you do. And I understand. I find direct insults more offensive. Meaning blatently saying it. I've had teachers tell me to be sit down and please be quiet, etc but I never saw it as degrading so just relating it back to my experiences but I am trying to be more open minded and understand what you mean so I will not say that again to you.

Again, I see what you're saying but I differ in opinion. I believe that actually participating in the industry is more degrading than making a joke about it but I will refrain from doing it again in the future because I do see how it is offensive to people.

Not everyone chooses to be mentally handicap, raised a certain religion, etc. Porn stars choose to go into the business. I do not think of anyone as less of a human being for choosing a particular career or hobby... I just think that certain choices degrade a name in general.

Not everyone chooses to be mentally handicap, raised a certain religion, etc. Porn stars choose to go into the business. I do not think of anyone as less of a human being for choosing a particular career or hobby... I just think that certain choices degrade a name in general.

I got into one discussion with her thinking she was a stoopid guy. lolol She did an excellent job at coming across as one. I look at stoopid guys the same way I look at pet rabbits or ferrets. Cute, but keep them in a cage or they get shit everywhere.

When I found out she was a female, I was just annoyed by her. I still think she's stupid, though. :)

One of my good friends was telling me how he did that all year from nationals 05 til nationals 06 and ended up turning pro. His hams were hanging for being in one of the lighter weight classes.
