Box Squats...

I'm planning doing these today for legs. I just wanna be sure I got it right cause I've never done em or seen em done anywhere before.

When I come down I sit on the box. But do I keep tension? Or do I relax my hips? How can I be 'sitting' and keep tension? And how long do I pause at the bottom?

Thanks for any tips.

If anyone has a link to a box squat video that would be great.
 
Keept tightness through the WHOLE movement. Pause long enough to break up the concentric and eccentric phases. Do not rock and lose your arch on the box.
 
to to top of page and i think spatts has a sticky to vids which has a box squat vid..i keep tension everywhere else, but pause long enough to relax my hips, then explode back up using as much thrust motion as you can.(i only do these at 40-50% of my max)
 
im down on the box maybe a second. just enough for the hips to relax, and then shoot back up.

I'm practicing it in my office chair now. Luckily I'm in a corner and no one can see me sticking my ass out like ths. ;-)
