When you see pictures of Olympic lifters at their deepest, though, their hamstrings are often lower than their calves. Their foot spacing is often fairly wide too but not as wide as many powerlifters take theirs.
Yes with a wide stance your behind would not touch your calves , but I would also think there would be alot of pressure on your knees because they would be torqued quite a bit in that position. Plus the weight on your back would force you down further thus increasing torque on your knees
