Ditto on the BP check, also check for anemia. Do you take a lot of asprin? That can cause thin blood, as can drinking alcohol. There are a lot of things that a nosebleed can be a symptom of, from brain tumors to dry nasal passages. If this is something new and recurring, go get checked out.
I once got a nosebleed in a club in New Orleans that lasted for 6 hours. It was a symptom of poor eyesight (I never saw the punch coming).

Are you taking any allergy medications either prescribed or over the counter. These have been known to cause nose bleeds in some people.
