Blood Tests - HRT

Over a year and a half ago I was diagnosed with very low test levels. This was about 3 months after a Tren cycle. During this cycle I managed to lose 12 pounds, and towards the very end I contracted a nasty prostate infection which I didn't know I had until my girl and I were having sex and afterwards the entire condom was filled with nothing but blood. Was given meds, and told to avoid anything that made my prostate swell like caffine, spicy foods, liquor. Once that was treated I was given Test Gel for low test, which never really made sense to me b/c I was under the impression test makes your prostate swell.

But one odd thing my doctor never reccomended was taking a blood test to check liver values or see if the test is working. He only asked how I feel. My libido was up, depression gone, and I was finally seeing gains in the gym again. Just a brief history I've been training for 7 years, hard, and very dedicated. My friends always thought I trained wrong becuase my gains have always sucked. I looked in the picture section and I see guys with gains in 1 year that I have made in 7, pretty frustrating but I plug along.

So my question is, does test gel increase liver values? Is my doctor (family doc) doing wrong by me for not having my blood checked regularly? Just moved to Texas and will probably see a Urologist soon. Just worried he's going to take me off test and I will be back to square 1.

Seems a little lax to me. You should definitely get your values checked.

The gel (which equals about 100 mgs a week) won't likely affect liver values.

Testosterones effect on prostate is very overestimated. If T were the culprit , it would be young men who had the problem. It's usually older men with low T that have BPH.

Estrogen is also a factor and a smart doc would prescribe low dose dex and "recommend" natty anti e supplementation. But I realize this is over the heads of most endos expertise.

Also, lowering SHBG is a momunmental factor with HRT and for that, nothting is better than UNLEASHED. Do not use Proviron if you have prostate issues.

Good luck.

Good to know, thanks Nelson.

I asked him to check my estrogen levels during the blood test, and he asked why you are a man, you're not supposed to have estrogen? Women have that.. So, rather than go on about it and argue I played stupid. I had estrogen problems since my teenage years with lumps under the nipples in which the doctor at that time explained to my mom they will eventually go away. They did go away, in my twenties when I ran a few PCT cycles and not on their own.

I am hoping the new doc will give me better advice, I looked him up and he is HRT friendly and has done studies on Low Test. Keeping fingers crossed.
