Blood Test Results

I came off clomid about 3 weeks ago and decided to get my blood work done. Everything was normal, except that my cholesterol was extremely high and my liver rates were fucked up.

My liver test was : Alt- 71 and Ast- 60

Is this a large problem or do I just need to give my body some more time?

As far as my cholesterol, Does anybody have any advice on lowering it? I eat a lot of steak but I was hoping there was some other way than cutting it out.

thanks

grab some ALA and give that a try...i know someone who had elevated liver enzymes and took ALA,then got tested a bit later and they were about normal..cant hurt....

The two readings are interrelated.Cholesterol is produced by the liver, and in times of undue stress cholesterol profiles get really ugly.I take it you were using oral c-17aa's?

When I get my cholesterol above 200, I use creatine for about a month at 4x5grams/day, and it gets down to normal levels, below 180. Call me crazy, but it works for me.

I had a post cycle blood work-up done last month, my Doctor said my cholesterol levels were "remarkable" considering the cycle I just finished. I attribute this to a unrelenting regimen of EFA's: I take Evening Primrose Oil tabs(2000mgED), Hempseed Oil(1tablspED), and Flaxseed Oil(1 tablspED).

Back in 1999, when I was considering using AAS, I began to do some research into what to expect as far as sides. I wanted to take as many precautions as I could. So when I started my first cycle(May 99'), I began to supplement with high amounts of EFA's(for cholesterol) and anti-oxidants(for liver protection). I continue this supplementation while "off" as well. I am totally committed to this regimen, can't say enough about its benifits.

Realgains had a post a while back where he summarized some medical research that led to this topic. Apparently, many doctors feel the most serious AAS side effect is poor cholesterol values. Its not something you can see or feel, until it leeds to cardiovascular disease, then you're really screwed. Realgains is another huge proponent of EFA supplementation.

500 mg niacin w/ 800mg red rice yeast 2x a day
no butter, yolks and lower steak intake. xtra cardio

I lowered my cholesterol over 70 points in 30 days

(it was the synergism between the niacin and the statin in the redrice yeast)
