Blood Pressure/Dilated Pupils

Any docs out there give me any clues to why my BP is up and down. Tonight it was 150/110 which was scary but has been down to 130/75 recently. I have noticed that my pupils are also more dilated than normal. I'm 45, gym 5 days, cardio 3 days, diet is quite clean but eat out twice weekly with steak, etc and a bottle of red wine twice a week. Only on 20 mg winstrol and a shed load of sups.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

BP goes up or down normally, best to work out a BP profile over a few weeks. Buy a good home BP monitor to check it, dont use the ones at the store, who knows how its calibrated. Better yet, most clinics and fire stations offer free BP checks. Have it done everyday for three weeks and keep the results and show that to your physician. One issue is that weightlifters with large arms need to have a large cuff used when having it checked. Using a small cuff thats used on average people will make the BP number falsely elevated.
I suspect that if its 130/75 then you are just catching transient times of high BP and that your BP is normal, it doesnt tend to fluctuate to normal if you have hypertension. So either you get tense when you have it taken or you are having it done on a machine that may be inaccurate. Hard to say b/c you havent provided much info. so Im guessing.
Doesnt sound like that much of an issue since at times your BP is normal but to be on the safe side get it tested over time to see what your BP profile is doing. ALso forget about the dilated pupils.

Thanks Erin, I do have my own cuff as I was a paramedic for many years but I was just worried by the BP raising so high like that regulary. Thought maybe the winstrol maybe played a roll. Thanks again for the advice. k

Ok, well in my understanding of winstrol it doesnt cause much water retention which affects BP, I have not read up individual steroids and their effects on BP.
Other things can cause transient high BP, drinking alcohol is notorious for raising BP for a while afterwards. If you are having problems with water retention then talk with a physician about a diuretic such as lasix/furosemide. Recent studies have concluded that diuretics are the best to control bp for a lot of people.
Also just a note, I run patients on treadmills in clinic all the time and BP systolic raises with exercise while diastolic goes down. Im not sure why both systolic and diastolic both elevate transiently with you except for tension, incorrect measurment or something like alcohol use. I guess thats all I can think of. I would just not worry about it much since at times its normal which is baseline. Good luck
