its not the fault of the men and woman in the military that the govt has done this to them. i think you missed the GD point! bill maher should have not used the word military in is statement, thats what people are pissed off about. and just because people have an opinion doesnt make them sheeple. and as far as your superior attitude,....go fuck yo mutha!

thank you for a decent response, i dont know why wrought had to act like hes so superior to others with a different opinion. and for the record this lastest word "sheeple" is old already.

anyways i agree with you but my piont is maher should have specifically said who he meant(the clinton admin) not the military. he used the wrong word. and like i said in another post, we to must question mahers' motives, he does have ratings to protect. i was in the military and i also question my govt its a love hate relationship. anyways peace.

We live in a free society, our government is supposed to respond to the will of the people, and since the people (military included) did not vehemently oppose the changes then they must accept the responsibility for allowing it, this goes for everything and to deny it is to either deny the precepts of our society or to be hypocritical.
Therefore it is the military's fault, as it is the general populations fault that these changes have come to pass.......blablabla....zzzzz...

the key word in your first sentence is "supposed to". you dont think the military vehemently opposed the govts military budget cuts? when i served it was under bush sr. i dont recall alot of complaints about cutbacks at that time. they were begging people to stay in. the 8yrs clinton was in the military was drastically reduced.
the military and the general population do not act as one entity as you can see on this board. we are not one big voting block. thats like saying that the problems in the black community is the entire fault of the black race.
there is one thing i do know for sure and this was proven by gen schwartskoff(sp). cause he wanted to take out saddam like a true warrior, but bush admin said no.
most military people will tell you that they are willing to do the job and do it right.
i encourage people questioning our govt. i did it when i served and i do it now.
but there are always two sides two every story and a show like bill mahers usually presents only one.
just my opinion, but mahers show is nonthing more than rhetorical opinions to satisfy the people who dont watch the discovery channel.
