Advertisers have the right to pull sponsorship from the show.

ABC(Disney) has the right to Fire his Ass for business reasons.

Freedom of speech my ass! He insulted every single person that has ever served this country! He as far as I am concerned is a traitor. If we are supposed to read between the lines then say what is between the lines. He is a fool and I pitty him.

Just like the Florida firefighters that refused to ride on their fire truck because it was sporting the American flag. They said it offended them. The engineer obliged and took it down. The two are on suspension or something like that. I think the engineer should be as well. And they, all three should be executed for treasonous and traitorous acts, period!

but trust me, like I've posted before, gettin TOO worked up about this is fighting the wrong battles..these kinda of things will happen alot down the road.

i think america should keep their heads up high and concentrate on the task at hand..

I agree with Mr. Maher 95% of the time. I did not happen to see the show when he made these statements. Assuming that what Weapon X wrote is an accurate transcript of what Mr. Maher said, this would be one of those times that I disagree with Mr. Maher.

However, I will fight for his right to express his ideas.


Shame on the rest of you for wanting to silence him. You find him offensive, don't watch his show ... but you have no write to try and get him taken off the air. I, for one, find his show thought provoking and entertaining and I learn a lot about the world in which I live ...

My own gay community was wrong to boycott the Dr. Laura show after she called gays "biological defects." From a scientific perspective, she was absolutely 100% correct. We are biological defects.

Dr. Laura has a right to express her opinions and it saddened me when the gay community silenced her. Talk about a lack of tolerance for others! We were hypocritical.

Free speech is great and wonderful, blah..blah, however, television is all about ratings and economics. If someone offends enough viewers and sponsors, they will not and can not remain on network television. If you're so concerned about hearing free speech, watch cable access programs after midnight.

I actually enjoyed his show, but I will never watch it again.

I used to like his show, especially when it was on comedy central. But over the years he has gone farther and farther to the left, which significantly detracts from the show's appeal, IMO. I liked it much better when he was down the middle. Oh yeah, I liked the O'Riley Factor better when he was more down the middle as well.
