BILL MAHER (POLITICALLY INCORRECT GUY) IS SUCH A DICK!!!

Maher claims to be a libertarian (yeah right), and if you used to watch his show many years ago, he tried to present a much fairer picture of the issues.

Anyway, was he wrong about the hat? Think about it a little. Is it about showing respect for the firefighters or is it about gaining attention for yourself? Re-read that last sentence until you understand.

I think the whole concept of the show pushs Bill Maher to take the role of the devils advocate.

Sometimes he goes to far. But all in all, I like the guy. He openly critizes american hypocrysy when he sees it - hypocrysy most americans are too patrotic to recognize or acknowledge.

thumbs up to bill.

I knew there had to one, mabey two out there. Thats cool though I see your point bro. :)

How is wearing a FDNY hat gaining attention for yourself?? It's merely showing support for the bravery shown on 9/11, I still believe there are good people out there who actually appreciate all the pain and loss the firefighters/cops endured on that day...

ITS ABOUT SHOWING RESPECT. I'M PRETTY DAMN SURE THE FIREFIGHTERS APPRECIATE IT FULLY!!! THINK ABOUT THIS....WHAT ABOUT THE AVERAGE PEOPLE WEARING THE HATS??? HOW WOULD THEY BE GAINING ATTENTION FOR THEMSELVES??? JUST CUZ MICHAEL RAPPORPORT IS A CELEB DOESNT MEAN HE CANT SUPPORT THE FIREFIGHTES. WHEN I WAS IN NEW YORK IN DECEMBER, I BOUGHT A FDNY NAT ALSO. AM I TRYING TO GAIN ATTENTION FOR MYSEFL???

I think, that for too long, the firefighters, and servicemen/women have been ignored, or forgotten. It's appropriate to recognize them now, but a point not realized is that you're late to honor them. Why wait until they die?

They deserved mention long ago. For years they have been underpaid, and underappreciated. Unfortunately it took a tragedy for most of America to know what they do. Military included. Still very underappreciated. Since most of people didn't wear a hat prior to then, it seems to be a trendy thing to do......appreciated by only a few.....but image conscious for most.

WHEN I HEAR UNDERPAID AND UNDERAPPRECIATED, I THINK OF TEACHERS (GOOD, QUALITY TEACHERS).

and I agree with you. Sometimes the guy takes it alittle too far. defending illogical, and sometimes incidous positions just to get an argument kindled. but thats the nature of his show.

and i agree with Zirakzigil. his show wasnt quite as pointed as it is now. He used to come off as really sincere. Now he directs attitude toward any opinion resembling the status quo. Overboard on argumentative.

he has his moments though.

Pink,

The way i see it, everyone embraces patrotic sentiment during times of war. Presidential ratings are never higher during the first few years of a *justified* war as patrotism jells the community together. I can see the point if the guest was some sort of politician or head of a corporate lobby. Playing on the electorates patrotic fevor to win votes or public good will.

I like Bill Mahr. He's funny and questions the status quo -- makes for great TV.

I agree with about....91.4938357435% of what he says. :)

I agree with the title of this thread. He always manages to turn the conversations so that the guests are pinned into a corner and will automatically seem like an asshole. Plus, the FDNY bit tonight really pisses me off.
