Big Cycles vs Small Cycles -- The Difference

In all the years having been involved in this game I can say that there is one difference between doing short low dose cycles and longer/higher dosed cycles. Once you go off, both will yield the same gains.

Why? How can that be?

Because the body is always attempting to maintain homeostatsis. It can not hold more than a few pounds growth every month.

Using more gear and staying on longer obviously provides a gratification because while you're on you're bigger and stronger, yet ironically, there's a greater chance for keeping LESS gains with high dosages because the recovery is so much more difficult.

Obviously this has nothing to do with the approach of always being on. (And I consider anyone who bridges or starts a new cycle prior to being off for 3 months as "always being on.")

I know. I don't do any long cycles. 8 weeks max. I never even use test. Usually EQ & Tbol and I gain and keep ALL 8 lbs every cycle. I guess everyone's body is different. I've gained 35 lbs over the years & I have never used test. I credit it to the fact that my test production is never fully shut down so my recovery is WAY easier & I keep around 90% of gains.

I think alot of it depends on what compounds you are using. A couple of months ago I was just came off an 18-weeker. The longest cycle I've ever ran. I consisted of test e/tbol/primo/var and I kept the most gains off of this cycle than any other one.

next cycle i will do will consist of a shorter time frame with shorter esters

right now, its a 10 wk test e/deca cycle

I did long cycles for quite some time, I now do 8 weekers because recovery is faster so I keep more gains

Good to see posts like this. Newbies think that test is essential and even preferable for a first cycle and it's neither. Slow and steady is the only way to build muscle and that comes mostly from increased nitrogen retention of overworked muscles.

Keep in mind also, gains may be maintained for even a few months PC, especially if you used a lot of gear since the half life will keep going longer and it takes a while for the increased blood volume to drop.

I guess the vets are more aware of this than I realized. Spead the word.

Does all this short cycle talk means no one who posted uses EQ anymore? or can your EQ, primo, var, etc...be ran for longer periods of time?

I figured this out eventually myself to, but I still think that test, tren, and hgh are very vital to long term growth.
