I went to the Orthopedic surgeon today to get my shoulder examined. after some tests he said that the problem is two fold.
1. The 10mm gap in my shoulder is what causes the popping. Could've been suffered threw an inadvertant blow or even possibly grown that way. Seems to think that years of hockey and using my lead shoulder to check could be the culprit. They can do nothing for that.
2. The pain is caused by my bicep tendon being stretched the extra 10mm, since it wasn't built that long. It's like a guitar string being stretched across a rock. Everytime I pop my shoulder the string snaps down on the rock. It causes the pain, and eventually will tear.
He gave me a shot of cortizone, at my request, and told me to keep lifting for one month. In a month, if the pain continues go back and we'll schedule getting the tendon cut loose. Said I shouldn't lose much strength, if any, in it and would be pain free since there is nothing being snapped around.
Anyone ever suffer from anything like this? Just thought I'd share.
