Bicep genetics

Anyone read the newest "Muscle"? It's a decent mag that has some good contributers, much better than the majority of what's out there.

Anyhow there's this article that describes bicep genetics. In a front bicep pose with your arms at 90 degrees, measure the distance from the "end" of your bicep (actually where the muscle converges into the tendon, it's obvious when you're looking in the mirror), to the crease of your elbow. Ideal genetics are 1/2" difference, the higher it goes the worse your potential is.

I'm not sure about the truth to this article but it makes sense. Mine are at 1/2 an inch and have always had great peak and shape.

same here, but for ppl who have peak, their biceps are a lot further than half and inch from the crease in their elbow, i have football shaped biceps, nothing too peaked at all, but they are strong as hell

Arthur jones called that the 'finger test' back in the day.. if you can fit one finger in the gap = good. 2 fingers = average. 3 fingers = not so good.

the theory works for 'testing' poontang too :p

basically its just a way to determine if youve got peak? your lucky i got no peak lol..i just gotta make em bigger

Not peak, no :)

It does that too in a way, but it's meant to measure the length of your biceps brachii. The longer the muscle belly, the greater potential for growth--at least, according to "Muscle" and Jones.

I'm not registering more than .25" even at a right angle, but I've always been gifted in the biceps dept. Even 11 years ago, when I was struggling with 60-70 lb. curls I had decent bis. It was the triceps that took lots of prodding :(
