Bicep caving?

Whats crappenin,
Ok, every once in a while when i hit biceps hard intinsely something weird happens. When I flex my arm my inner head of the bicep sort of caves in, right at the insertion point to the elbow about 1/3 of the way back. Instead of having a roundness it caves. I usally do 6 sets once a week for biceps so I don't think im overtraining. I aslo dont train back with bis either. It has happened with as little as three sets. Anyone experience this or know wtf?

Genetics my young lad.

you mean the split? i think its supposed to happen but it sounds like your peak part may be under-developed... try doing hammer curls, wide grip barbell curls and see if you feel it in the other head of your bicep... :coffee:

hey i always thought hammer curls were more for the tricep then the bicep.

I don't thinkk you guys get what i am trying to say. It has nothing to do with the development of my bicep. I know what a split is it is not that either. My bicep is normal shaped. Just when I hit biceps hard the muscle sort of deteriorates. If you were doing a front bicep pose the part where it connects into the elbow caves in like it has been eaten away. It is only temporary, about a day or so later it looks normal again. And IMM107 how can hammer curls work the triceps it isn't possible.

I know it is hard to explain but if you have never experienced it or dont know whats happening you can't help me.

As far as I know they don't. Your biceps are worked by a basic curl because it includes supination. The hammer curl, and if anybody thinks otherwise please correct me, works the brachialis. Which if worked will make the biceps look thicker.

is there anyway you can hook us up with a picture bro?
i am really interested it this seems strange. so it is kinda like when you have a pump the shape changes? sounds like something under there would be pulling it down. but u say it last a few day? please take a pic of before and after..
i need to see this.

It could be that you have short biceps. Everyone's bicep head length is genetic. If you have a shorter bicep head, then when you flex them, you will see the ball, but then a descention after the bicep to the forearm. Usually those with short bicep heads can develop higher peaks though. Not sure if this is it, but I would imagine that when you get pumped, it would become more visible.

no he is saying he can flex.. before he lifts and there is not dent or cave in.
after working out there is a cave in.

i am going to guess not . " is not my arm" :D but i would of guesses he would be mentioning it. believe it is consmetic.

k to you bro,

Ah finally someone understands. It is hard to understand I know. I have asked a few athletic trainers and they didn't know what the heck either. It is def. cosmetic. It only last for 24 hours, and a little painfull when flexing.

Bro, you might have partially torn it long ago....perhaps even as a kid and that is just the way the bicep healed. Its interesting that you say there is some pain involved. That makes me think even more that it is an old injury. Tears can cometimes heal odd and make the muscle look different.

I am going to get digital cam here soon. I need an avatar with my guns on there so I can get a little respect here. Too many highschoolers sharing their wealth of knowledge.

Synthol. Ask radar, he used it to build up his 22" arms when he tore them.. or something.

I suspect its just genetic, my left arm is lacking 1/2 the 'meat' in the belly of the muscle the right arm has.. its just as strong, just a different shape. I wouldnt sweat it if it isnt affecting your training
