best way to take vitamins besides regular food

I have heard that vitamin/mineral pills don't get fully broken down by the body, but I cannot find any proof of that on the net... What types of vitamins/minerals do you guys take and how do you take them...
I would like to incorporate more vitamins into my early meals...
 
I only take a multivitamin when dieting.
I believe if you eat a well rounded diet you don't need em'
however calorie restriction and food restrction a believe warrants the use of them

I take 1 a day when dieting and I plit it in 3's I take one third of it with each major meal

You need to chew the multi vit/mineral before you take them. Just get any generic multi v/m and some vit C/E/D + calcium. Add about 500mg vit c. to your whole diet. Maybe 2 tabs of E and D.
Always chew them.

Some of the m v/m cannot be digested and/or broken down properly because of the outer coating/shell. I've seen some x-rays of people w/ chucks of old m v/m in their intestine because it could not be absorbed. If you chew them then it will increase the absorption to a much higher degree.

BTW caps are better than pills
