stuff called "Final Bite". comes in a green box. pour some in a bowl or cup and put it up where your dog can't get to it. also put some in your attic, especially every fall.

bats huh? You must have the luvered vents in the peak of your roof? no other way i know of except covering it with 1/4 in mesh then covering that with screen. it keeps out bats, birds, wasp, bumble bees...........
