Please post the best split for recoverey. And I don't need any "H.I.T sucks" comments either.

Here's what I had in mind.

day 1: chest/front delts/tris

Day 2: off

Day 3: legs/calves/medial delts

Day 4: off

Day 5: back/bi's/traps/forearms

Day 6: off

Day 7: off if necessary or repeat cycle.

Any opinions? Improvements?

That is a modified HIT routine- not how mentzer planned it out. That should work fine though assuming you do only one set to failure per muscle group. Typical HIT split as i understand it is taking 4-12 days off in between workout days. And doing half of the body at one time.

I know it's modified. I wanted to hit entire body once a week. I am doing 2 warm up sets for each bodypart, and 2-3 working sets after.

I follow the method outlined in Yates' Blood & Guts during the time he made his best gains:

Chest/Shoulders/Triceps

Back/Biceps/Legs

Train 3 times a week, you get in 2 workouts for each body part in 9-10 days.......works great with 5 sets per major bodypart and 3 for arms (since they already get indirect work from major bodyparts).

2 or 3 warmup sets and 1 working set to total concentric muscle failure is how i would do it- but i'm sure your way will work fine as well if you have good recovery abilities.

hardrock I used to train ECXACTLY like you!!! Although I enjoyed I wasnt noticing progress...I read once that to see progress during HIT you must be on steroids...maybe thats true...I also think its impossible to get cut using HIT. I only did cause my best friend in Portugal went to US and he got a certficate to be a HIT or SuperSlow trainer and we used to train together. During that time I was working from 5AM till 7PM and I was training at 9PM but my workout would last between 28-35minutes. I also read that HIT is more of a mental thing and sure it is cause you have only 1/2 chances to give your best on an exercise so if u give it up too early you dont have another set. I would like to know if someone from here used steroids while on HIT

I know this is not H.I.T.. It's more of a low volume high intensity workout.

anyone else?

Surely Dorian made his best gains from:

1/ Chest, Back Shoulders

2/ off

3/ Legs & Arms

4/ off

5/ repeat (right???)

anyhow heres my HIT split:

Mon-- Chest

Tues-- Back

Wed-- Off

Thurs-- Shoulders, Tris

Fri-- Biceps, Calves, Abs, Forearms

Sat-- Quads & Hams

Sun-- Off

I thought that the HIT routine was divided in exercises that pushs and exercises that pull. Monday(push)Wednesday(pull)Firday(push)

Like I said this is not a standard H.I.T. program. It's more of a lower(than regular) volume, high intensity workout.

Rest times depends on you, and how much you actually exhaust yourself. It will take some fine tuning to figure out how much rest you need.

I train:

1: Chest/tris/abs

2: Quads/calves/abs

3: Back/bis

4: Hamstrings/shoulders

5-7 off (cardio if on cycle)

This is what my trainer gave me, anyways. It works pretty well, I'm not sure how it stacks against more traditional HIT routines.
