That is poor logic to say the least. That is like saying the best selling car is also the best car.

the best selling car will not get you pussy....a few years ago it was the ford taurus......not a very babe catching car.

Exactly my point brother. Just because something is the best selling doen't make it the best.

Really bad comparison.

The Taurus was the best selling car up until a few years ago for one reason only: fleet sales. Companies with large fleets typically have to buy American and the only real choice was Taurus. When Toyota started to make Camry’s in the US, they quickly stole the no 1 spot (since Taurus is a shitty car) and then Honda did the same and now the Taurus is a distant memory...

This is very different though. Old Spice used to be a laughable brand but it's been featured as the coolest revived brand in Sports Illustrated, Maxim, GQ, Men's Journal, etc., etc.. This is all done by Saachi & Saachi (they're still one hell of an agency). They’ve won awards after awards for how they've revived the brand (a very tough thing to do in general) with ads featuring Brian Urlacher amongst others.

Here’s a few excerpts from the Wall Street Journal, February 25, 2002, page B16:

"Under the noses of its adult fans, Old Spice has become a popular deodorant with guys in their teens and 20s. Few use aftershave, so Procter & Gamble, the maker of Old Spice, won’t push that signature product. Instead P&G will press its advantage with this age group by selling them the two new types of deodorant…"

"P&G introduced Old Spice deodorants with names like High Endurance, in 1993, and Red Zone, in 1999, all designed for a younger, more macho man. Now, 28% of men age 12 to 19 use Old Spice deodorant, making it the leader, ahead of Gillette’s Right Guard, with 24% and Colgate-Palmolive’s Mennen Speed Stick, with 20%…"

Still think it's only grandpa who uses Old Spice? I haven't seen any statistics on the urban 30yo market, but I guaratee that it's no 1.

Now, just to make this perfectly clear: the new Old Spice deodorants do NOT smell like the old After Shave. At all.

And, for those of you with really poor memory, I never said that you should cover yourself in Old Spice deodorant. Only someone who uses perfume (which men say no to) would do that. It does make you smell good though, even if you don’t have to use the French idea to cover up BO with perfume. It smells good because it’s clean. Period.

Now what was that about the Taurus again?

Men don’t wear cologne? I think the ladies should be the one to judge that.

99% of the time I do not wear cologne. Usually because I am too lazy to remember it. When I do, I wear the Gap one that smells like soap a little. I ride the NYC subways and soap is something you never smell on the trains.

The gap one kind of smells like CK.

RULE- Do not wear cologne in the gym! PRs are the worst when it comes to this... Sorry for the generization but it's 9 out of 10 of them.

i'm not saying that men aren't wearing perfume (cologne is just another word for perfume), i'm saying that men shouldn't wear perfume.

i give you points for not wearing something that not so INSANELY offensive as most fruity stuff out there though and THANK GOD you're not wearing it at the gym. It's bad enough to smell that crap on a guy in a bar, let alone mixed with sweat at the gym. :eek2: :eek2: :eek2:
