what is the best diet for me i am 15 about 190lbs 6 foot i really want to lose fat so what woudl be a good diet. also shoudl i do cardio everyday or split it up thanks

My opinion is that you dont need anything radical - just eat right and stay active. Keep a good balance of proteins/carbs/fats with an amount of calories that is slightly under maintenance for you. Your maintenance will be around 2200 calories - depending upon how active you are and your specific metabolism. My suggestions would be to keep total calorie intake at about 2000 - with about 40% of that coming from Proteins, 20% from Fats and 40% from Carbs to start out with - try for a month and modify slightly to improve results. You have to stay active - eat 5 or 6 times each day - spreading out the proteins evenly throughout the day and eating most of your carbs in the morning meals. Eat good fats - ie.. EFA Omega 3's. DRINK WATER ... NOT SODA and not to much fruit juice.

Do some research on this stuff - it's not rocket science - just takes time and persistance - you have to learn your own body - suggestions from others can only get you started in the right direction. Whatever you do - dont try to loose it all at once - your body loves to adapt to whats going on and your progress will halt as rapidly as it starts. Make small goals regulary and try to remember the big picture.

Did that help any?

At 15, don't worry about diet too much. Just exercise your ass off.

Work out at least 4x per week and don't eat sugar (pop, candy bars, etc.) or lot sof junk food. If it has to be fast food do subway or get the chicken sandwich with no mayo at McDs, no fries, no chips, etc.

Like he said, it's not rocket science. Just by doing the above you will look much fitter in no time.

Oh BTW this is the way everyone should eat all the time. DOn't do it just to diet.

I don't know if it will work for you, but when i was your age i lost a few pounds by just cutting out junk food and soft drinks. Give it a try. If you don't have one already, find a sport that you like. I used to play basketball and paintball. Those were always my 2. I'm fully convinced that diet is the most important thing, but at your age you have the best your metabolism will ever be on your side. Heck, i'm 22 and mine is already shot to hell ;)

You'll get a lot of different opinions here, but listen to them all and do some research. There are a lot of really knowledgeable guys here that know more than i ever will.

Bro - YOU GOTTA EAT! Your body will shut down any fat burning capabilities if you try to do it this way - you might even get fatter and loose any muscle that you have. Check out this web site for info on foods for Pro/Carb/Fat/Calories. GET YOUR CALORIES TO AROUND 2000 A DAY! - clean foods of course. Then check after a couple weeks to see how your body is responding - then maybe lower calorie intake by only 100 calories or so for a week if you are not loosing. Lift weights moderately - the more muscle you have the better your body will be at ridding fat. If you are new to working out check out some routines on the web for new lifters - probably a good compound movement full body routine 2 times each week would be good for the first 6 months then split your body parts into two separate workouts and maybe go 3 days a week (giving you 3 workouts per bodypart every two weeks). Do 3 sets of each exercise and use the 12/10/8 method. Cardio is good - running is probably the best - but try to do sprints - keep your rest in between at around a couple minutes - do this for about 30 minutes.

Link to a calorie counting web site

The food you listed is good stuff - just eat more of it. Your a decent size kid for your age - you might have some good potential - but nobody ever said that it would be easy - just worth it in the end. Dont expect a miracle - and dont look to buy any miracle drugs. Just be wise and patient - your young. Dude, I wish I woulda started out at your age thinking about diets and wanting to train right. I worked out for 6 years and hardly gained any size because my diet sucked - I never even thought about it.

Anyway - good luck.
