Best Cardio Equipment

What's the best type of home equipment for cardio? I've been researching recumbent bikes, treadclimbers and ellipticals. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Whichever one you like the most. Personally I despise treadmills, why not just go for a walk. The rec bike is nice for light to moderate cardio. If you don't mind the expense I'd go with an elliptical, great cardio and low joint impact.

Cheers,

Rowing is by far the best and most intense sort of cardio you can do in the gym, other than frantic sex !!

Steppers give a good cardio workout. I just bought a hyrolic stepper off of craigslist for $35. I'm getting it tommorrow. We'll see how it does. Just a change from my treadmill.

Treadmills are great, as long as they incline. But the king machine would have to be a stair mill. The gym I belonged to had Stairmaster Stepmill 7000's. You go hard on one of these machines, and you will be trembling after.

But they are $4,800.00 on Amazon.com, that's the only problem.

$35 used? A good stepper is my choice for cardio. This one is relatively cheap and has some interesting features. http://spam-me-until-i-puke.com/sta...c-stepper-affordable-cardio-strength-machine/

Yeah, $35 used on craigslist. You should be able to get one on your local craiglist. Just put up an ad in the 'items wanted' section, saying you are looking for a stepper machine.

That is what I did and I received a few offers in my email. And someone said they had a Precor stepper they wanted to just get rid of. Probably $250 or more new. Looks heavy duty.

I wouldn't buy the one you are looking at considering you could get something similiar to this one for under $50.
Here is a picture of the unit I'm getting tomm.

My preference is a treadmill or a concept 2 rower.

Or you can use good ol' bars and plates. Try 50 reps of 135 lb. clean (full squat cleans) and jerk. That will tax the lungs for real.
