Best big city to live in in the United States

I hate small towns! I live in Florida right now, If i move back up north I really want to go to somewhere like Cincinatti or Chicago and live. Tell me, what is the best big city to live in? Something where there are plenty of nice neighborhoods, good weather or at least tolerable weather, and relatively low crime.

Ft. Lauderdale is great. So is Atlanta. If you can afford it, Manhattan is the way to go.

My dad and I are starting a business and we plan to move to Ft Myers, Florida in a year. I really dont' know though, its probably another hillbilly trash town.

I might look more into Dallas. I have never been to texas. Some cities I liked that I have visited are Chicago, St Louis, Cincinatti, Atlanta, Montgomery, Indy, Birmingham. I have family in Ohio so Columbus would be a wise choise. What is the population of columbus?
