Anyone here using them?

Have been experiencing some pain in the outside of my left wrist...

Feels a little shaky when the weight gets up there...

Thoughts? Seem to come in 12,24 and 36" lenghts....why?

Do wrist curls to strengthen those wrists, al possible directions! Personally I've never used wrist wraps, but though they help a bit, the weakness will still be there, know what I mean?

Your avi sickens me, seems that his belly is going to explode all over my PC screen lol.

Inzer Advance Designs: Iron Wrist Wraps Z-The super powerful Iron Wrist Wraps Z delivers the most supreme support of all wrist wraps.

As far as Im concerned these are the best in the biz. And you cant beat the price.

I have a pair at 12", not sure why you would want longer. These things feel like steel wrapped around
your wrists.

I use these also along with the elbow wraps and knee wraps. I have the same problem on my inner wrists when I curl. If I put on the wraps it goes away. I also use my elbow wraps and wrist wraps on my heavy bench days. I feel no weakness whatsoever when I use them and actually feel I can lift more weight safely. At my age I'm more prone to injuries more so than all you guys in your 20's and 30's. When my joints feel safer I'm more comforatable lifting the heavier load. The inzer knee wraps just slip around and have 3 strips that tighten up. Great if you don't want to spend alot of time wrapping but they are not quite as powerfull as a true knee wrap.

I use 12" wrist traps when I bench and squat. A couple of things to remember.

1) Unless you are Scott Mendelson you have no need for anything longer than 12"
2) Get a pair with the thumb loop. It makes it easier to put on and the loop just flips out of the way when not in use
3) Wrap them tight enough so you hands start changing colors and you have to take them off between sets to let the blood back in
4) Wrap them "high" enough on your hand so that they just come over the first 1/4 - 1/2" of the bottom of your hand. The exact location will take experience. The goal is to get at much of your wrist covered as possible.
5) Don't get anything from you local porting goods store. Inzer Advance Designs: Iron Wrist Wraps Z-The super powerful Iron Wrist Wraps Z delivers the most supreme support of all wrist wraps. (what I use currently), or one of the ones from EliteFTS should be what you get.

do this if it is a muscle weekness. but if its a joint problem which it probably is use the wraps and try to avoid further injury.

I have used the same pair of Inzer wraps for over three years. When (if) they wear out, I will buy another pair.

Have you made sure you are using proper form? The weight of the bar should be in line with your forearm (i.e., your wrist should not be forced backwards due to the weight) and the thumb/fingers just hold the bar in place. The wrist wraps are there for support if your form slips.

So the longer straps give you more support since you wrap around more? I would think 12 would be too short...sheesh my wrists are 9" inches...

Is your lift still considered "raw"?

They are like super ace bandages. 12" is their length when not stretched.

I do believe that you are IPW raw if you use them as long as they do not exceed a certain length.

But I may be wrong on this as I didn't look it up.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I had wrist pain in the exact same place and it turned out to be my form. I dropped the weight down, worked on form and it went away.

IMO wraps are like lifting straps. I use them to help with the last set to ensure i get squeeze and all my strength isn't going to hold the bar.

If you use straps for deadlift, or any other lift it is no longer "raw".

What grip are you using for bench?

How are straps "raw"?

To me RAW means you have a t-shirt, gym shorts, socks, shoes and some chalk, nothing else.

Point taken and agreed.

I think they just want to remove the suits and shirts that increase the weight so dramatically. The rest of the stuff they just see as functional support.

It's a shame powerlifting has become such a mess. Different federations with different rules, sometimes half assed lifts count as a full lift.

There needs to be one governing body with a set standard for all lifts, if that were to actually happen it would probably be more popular as a spectator sport like the olympics.

Personally I am starting to like the Cross Fit total more and more. Squat, Deadlift, and Strict Over Head press (no leg drive), all true RAW.

This is exactly why PLing will never be an Oly sport.

The WPO is the worst of them, and anyone who competes in their fed has little respect in my book.

I use them when my wrists bother me. Some days they do some days they dont. I usually only need them on pressing days though, rarely on squat days my wrist has to really be bothering me to need it then.
