ok about a month ago i stopped benching heavy because my pecs were getting REALLY tight when i'd bench. it just started up again today..my 2nd workout back

i did squats and didnt do too well. then i went to lockouts and didnt do good at all. 365 for a double was very hard, when i've done well over 450 for triples in the past. and that's fine, i can just dismiss it as an off day

but this pec thign is REALLY bothering me. it flared up during lockouts and now even when standing and sitting i can feel them very tight and very painful. the pain is more in the top and by the pec insert

i did some flyes to get some blood in there and that helped for about 3 minutes. now its back to being horrendously tight

anybody know what the deal is?

i'm taking off for maybe another week or so because i get my wisdom teeth taken out tomorrow (how long should i wait? should i lift on monday?)

this is really going to hinder me and i'm afraid as hell of tearing a pec

bump

today it's not bad at all. cant really feel anything. only when lifting and directly after lifting do my pecs flare up

I don't know how I missed this. Sorry man. Jeremys - your body is speaking to you. Beckon the call.

I would see a massage therapist immediately and get a deep tissue massage done. Repeat the procedure every week for a month. Each session can cost you anywhere between $20-50 depending on your geographic location. I have personally worked out deals with the professional due to financial problems at the time and seriousness of the possible injury. If you are second guessing my advice how about this;

1 - a maximum of $250 spent on the actual massage and time off from training only to come back stronger.

or

2 - possible pec surgery ($$$$), loss from training, and temporary depression.

The choice is yours and this is 1 mans opinion. I listen to my body and it has treated me more than well. Beckon the call.

thanks man

i have to take the next 2 weeks off anyway

i was just speaking with somebody through instant messaging and i think that when i start lifting again i may drop raw flat bench and switch it with some direct work, maybe incline DBs or flat DBs or something

if it still doesnt work i'll look into massage therapy

thanks again
