i've been waiting for today's workout for a while because of this weight.
Back in November, i did a set of 165x3, 175x3, then 185x3 and i was exhausted. 2 weeks later i did 200x3 and barely got that. havn't attempted a max since.
today, however, 185 for 5x5. i hit every set and every rep. the last rep of the last set took a LOT to drive up, but i made it get up there.
this is what i've been waiting for with 5x5. this week my seated OHP goes to 135lbs...i've never done that much in my life, but i'm going to 5x5 with it! my standing BB curl will go up to 105lbs, i'll be amazed if i hit it, but last weeks 100lb was more than i've ever curled before as well (and took me 2 weeks to get).
ya know, PRs are great. i think this is even better that i'm hitting PRs with my WORKING weights.
if i can keep this progression up, in 4 weeks i'll be doing 5x5 with my previous max. even if it takes me 6 weeks to get there, i'll be happy. i'm seeing progress on a weekly basis. that's what makes this all worth it to me.
