Spending all your time trying to find happiness, peace and the truth. That would be a nice life. I'm sure there are downfalls though, like eating rice and water all day. Plus the lack of any social interaction would suck too.

Maybe a hermit is more up my alley. i have seriously considered being a hermit before, just build a 20x20 shed deep in the woods. then insulate it, put a bed, tv, vcr, computer and some books in there. I'd still need internet and tv access though. perhaps thats not much of a hermit lifestyle, but i prefer the privacy.

So that is my goal for a few years, become a religious fanatic or hermit. I think it'll give me some good experiences.
 
The hermit thing about sums me up. I got a house in the woods that I only leave to work, work out, or get groceries.....

Not that bad. All the privacy you want. I could go outside with a grenade launcher and no one would give a damn...but, more land = more property taxes.

niiiiiiiiiiice. Nice life. It would be nice to have a good meditation spot deep in the woods where no one else goes and you can't see or hear anyone.

By 'lack of social interaction' i was talking about not having a computer, TV or phone and just sitting in a 20x20 wooden box all day reading books.
 
I'm liking this idea... I prefer reading a book to going out most of the time. Unless I'm doing business with them, people generally annoy me.

The thing that would bother me most about being a monk or a hermit would be the lack of sex. I'm not enthralled about having the company of a woman for long periods of time, but if I don't have sex for a good while life starts to get tense. It wouldn't matter if I could just order in a woman who didn't talk every now and then.

same here, people don't annoy me i just have nothing i want to talk to them about 90% of the time. Sucks because most social interaction is fluff. For some reason it doesn't bother me when i do it on EF though. shrug.

A nice little meditation spot near my cabin in the woods would be nice. I could live in the cabin, watch tv, surf the net, read books and meditate all day.

Well, i could fuck a 1000 fat chicks for $50 apiece, and invest the money in microsoft stock.

It wouldn't take alot of money to live that way, maybe $500 a month or so. Besides, this would be short term, maybe a year or so.

Yep, people in person, they can jump off a bridge, on the Internet, I can BS about something as stupid as Soklueless's date thread. Got me why....
 
Actually this is a backup plan for me if I ever hit rock bottom. I don't have to go. LOL

i dont know why that is. maybe there is so much more freedom and control here online. Maybe its because the people you talk to are better communication material than the people you meet in person. Probably all of them.

Anyway, yeah i agree with you & plornive on all of what you said except about people annoying you. People don't annoy me, i just have nothing i want to talk to them about most of the time which sucks as most of them feel a need to fill their time with communication.

I meant girls who like to fuck and know that they should leave afterwards. It does require some effort, but I think getting a few girls lined up to visit every now and then would help if you were a hermit.

There is no way I could be a hermit unless I packed up and left a lot of ongoing things. Living in a dense city is quite a stark difference from solitude.

I got close. I've been lying in my bed in a semi-coma state. My daughter just came in to tell me something and I couldn't talk without my lip hanging down and sounding mentally impaired.

That's not far off. For public housing, I guess it is about 70 sq ft per person. Most people I know have about double that. I haven't even figured out how many sq ft my current place is but I think it's about 300 sq ft which is not bad at all in HK.

Yeah the general public gets on my nerves as well. I don't know how I'm gonna cope when I have to go back to work and be around people all day. I can't stand being in a crowd of people. I'm definitely a hermit, but I like to be a hermit with a woman, and just get out occasionally for the little social contact that I need. I think I'll be a pizza delivery boy.

my x-brother inlaw seems to like, 3 time loser, lives in a steel box 8x10 I think
