Beards/ scruff good?

Not that ngr from The Hangover beard, but in check and tight beard.

Opinions?

I'm not thinking any goatee shit. No need to make my face look like a vag. *cough* puds *cough*
 
too much. 5 o'clock shadow look is money.

i actually just use a professional hair trimmer on my entire face (like the one they use in the ngr barbershop to shape sideburns and stuff...gets REALLY close). then i use a razor to shave my neck and the upper part of my cheeks, and part of my mustache, so i don't look like an arab. gives me a managable 5 o'clock shadow that looks well groomed and perfectly shaped.

i get about twice as many looks/girls hitting on me with that look than me just not shaving at all or being clean shaven.
 
I don't get the whole beard thing these days. Do bros like it because they think it looks cool? They like it because they don't have to worry about shaving all the time? No offense to all the bros strutting them on the board. I am just curious why so many have them now.
 
Oh and I am not talking about a shadow like Nev. I meant the guys on here with the full thick beards. Shadow to me doesn't look that bad, but it does hurt to even kiss my man after not shaving a few days. I prefer clean shaven.

I'm thinking partially because of maintenance. I got the zit of all zits, the no pop kind that just sits there forever, in an area that would be hidden by scruff. So I just let it grow and was having wimmins I work with and know outside of work tell me it looks good. I usually shave once or twice per week unless I'm seeing clients, so it's not like I'm always clean shaven anyway.

Nice! Girls can cover zits with makeup and you can cover with facial hair. Yeah I can imagine if you have some monster zits it wouldn't feel to great to run a razor over them either. :worried:
 
ive pulled at least 3x more poon with my man beard than without it.

ive learned ALL girls claim they prefer clean shaven, but everytime ive shaved my beard off the girls are beggin me to grow it bak. guess thats cause i got an ugly mug
 
i like me a little beard as long as it's manageable... so Jon if you can make sure it's at least cleaned up before you get here I'd appreciate it. k thanks
 
How long did it take you to grow that? How much maintanence have you done?

IMO looks alright, but as CW said a bit shorter would be legit.

I think 1.5-2 weeks? I keep the neck & jaw clean, just wondering about how long it should go.

2. It's winter here so the beard keeps my face warm
3. I loathe shaving and have only been clean shaven once in the last 12 years
4. Because it's awesome

This is pretty much what I have for a beard now but my hair isn't this long again yet.

Some guys look good with facial hair, but even of the ones who do, most (not all, but most) still look better - and younger - without it. I'm a big fan of that picture of you and q-bert where you have the shadow, though....so basically, what cw and phoenix said.

i look a good deal younger than my age when clean shaven so the beard helps.

Well, personally, I prefer the youthful look, assuming it doesn't make you look 18. Thus why I think most (again, not all, but most) look much better in my eyes clean shaven.

lol how is it conniving if I'm simply telling the truth about what I'm attracted to? There's no manipulation or lies there. Just an honest opinion. When my ex was clean shaven I was about twice as attracted to him as when he wasn't. he still looked hot to me with a little bit of facial hair, but I could hardly keep my hands off him when he shaved it off. I never told him that though, because I didn't want him to feel like he needed to alter his appearance for me and I think guys should do what they like for themselves. I wouldn't cut my hair if I dated a guy who was into women with short hair, or dye it if a guy liked blondes. But if my opinion is asked by someone I'm not dating, i'll give them an answer.

Honestly I've never tried to alter my appearance to please anyone else. And I really don't care one way or the other if it attracts or repels women, I like it so it's staying.

i prefer clean shaven or very short, trimmed and well maintained kind(just big enough to be soft but not prickly)

I seriously don't know what I'd do if I ever saw a guy with a landing strip.

I'll also note that facial hair does not feel good on my girl parts. Another case by case thing, probably, but my skin is very sensitive.

Pete-i,m not telling how i keep things looking down there! but i'll tell you all about the northern region. i shave my beard every morning as i think it looks best, but i keep my mustache looking duper awesome. timmed, no fly away hairs. *tip* use gel

nef- i 've seen lots of guys with landing strips, especially in TX! some of them did look good with it. but i think if you can look good with a landing stip, you'll look even better clean shaven.

in TX, mostly Hispanic boys sport them. generally not a lot, but i seem to come across a lot of them. i've def met a few this past yr.

Oh! LMAO. I was talking below the waist, since I was thinking along those lines from cane's question. I've never heard of someone referring to any facial hair style as a landing strip. But now that makes a lot more sense. But I think that kind of facial hair looks silly too.

Wulfgar, no one was rubbing anything against me intentionally. But it but just the little bits of inevitable friction were uncomfortable.

Scruff is good but.....one thing about beards though (the longer ones). They always make me think they're going to smell like soup and have mustard in them or something. *retch*

My wife likes me clean-shaven, and I like the look on myself too. However, I do switch up now & then, and grow a goatee. But I look in my 20s clean shaven, and a whole lot older with any facial hair. At nearly 43, I'll grab hold of all the youth I can!

Me too girl! I request he shave before heavy makeout sessions. My face around my mouth was once raw. I looked like I had been out snow skiing and had severe wind burn. It hurt!
