To fully understand this you would have to have a basic idea of Anatomy & Physiology.........ie...aminos are the building blocks of protein...protein synthesis is needed for tissue regeneration (muscle)......BCAA (leucine, isoleucine, and valine) are amino acids that play a huge part in tissue regeneration by "kickstarting" the release of insulin (along with carbs) in one process, and by initiating the process in which mRNA (messenger RNA) starts the process of tissue (muscle, etc) regeneration
To avoid catabolism (breaking down)......first thing in the morning and immediately post-workout are the best times to consume BCAAs (insulin output postworkout with leucine alone results in almost 4x more output than without it)
BCAAs are also indicated in burn trauma to speed recovery.....
