Bathroom scales

Why are these things ALWAYS wrong??

My bathroom scale reads me in at 163 or so... and the gym scales weight me in at 174... as does the doctor's scale.

Are these things made for fat people trying to lose weight or something?

i dunno. i have on in my bathroom that i rarely step on because it's always several pounds over what i weight. when i do step on it, i just look to see if i'm further down the dial than last time, as opposed to looking at what number it ended up on.
the funny thing is when i have company over and a female goes to use my bathroom. it's almost guaranteed that she'll come out of there freaking out about the scale. no one can seem to resist stepping on a scale in an unfamiliar bathroom. it's like peeking in the medicine cabinet. you never hear dudes coming out of the bathroom complaining about the scale making them feel fat.

I used to have the same problem, solved it quite easily though.

Just remember to let go of the 5lb pinkies before stepping onto the gym scale and you will be golden.

Don't worry....

I've yet to figure out the problem between home scales and everyplace else. I use just one scale consistently. Even if it's off, I'm still getting an idea of my gains and losses.

Want accuracy? Go to UPS and get weighed. ;)

Mine is just the opposite, reads way high. Wiz you look a lot heavier that 163 in your avatar. I'd go with the gym scales.

Why don't you just adjust your scale to read the proper weight? Put something of verifiable weight (i.e. a 10lb dumbbell or something) on the scale and adjust the zero-knob until it reads 10. Then it should weigh you accurately.
