hi im tryin to do a chest workout but it seems that everytime i workout out on barbell bench i cant break the chest the tri's and bi's go 1st but it seems that when i do bench dumbbell i can almost certainly break them why is this and what are the ways around it
 
Could be your form. Try keeping your arms at a 90* angle with your body so you isolate your pecs.
 
I let it drive deep into my chest before going back up. I've found that the fear of having my sternum shattered fills me with enough fear (adrenaline) to fire the weight back off my chest!
