I think they put 99 Luftbalons on there because it's a song about nuclear winter. A stretch, but that's what I recall.

ttlpkg, if you've got an 80's station down there, you'll hear that song fairly often, along with a lot of Madonna, and Come on Eileen.

Yeah, I listen to the 80s channel once in a while for nostalgia. Now that you mention it I have heard from Dexy's Midnight Runners, and I even hear Thomas Dolby pretty often.

Madonna has always gotten major airplay.

I just hope they ban the german version, because all I could understand them saying was the word "balloon" and the name "Captain Kirk". I couldn't sing along with the rest of the song.
