Backwards hats

Anyone know why wearing a ball cap backwards would offend some people? I was out in a bar Thursday night with a freind I work with. Everything was kewl then I turned my ball cap around backwards, as I sometimes do for no reason inparticular and all of a sudden! Three to four people including the owner of the bar approached me and insisted I turn my hat around? What the fuck I said, do it or leave they said. You think that I would have pulled out my dick and twirlled it around the way they were offended. Anyone know what is up with that?

P.S.
My freind was black, think that had something to do with it?

around here you cant wear bandanas or certain colored headwear in bars or pool halls,its a gang thing,shits been getting bad lately up here,people getting jumped,beaten for no reason,stabbed,guess violence is everywhere now
