back problems help

one of my friends recently asked me if i can make a workout that would help with his back problems. he's been to the doctors and they couldnt find out what is wrong with his back. however, im not exactly sure what exercise would help back problems. does anyone have any suggestions?

i found this online: Back Pain Exercises - Core Strengthening, Lower Back Stretching
its very helpful, but im not sure how many exercises i should tell him to do a week or how many exercises he should do a day. any advice? i dont want him to over do it.

what are his back problems? like where is the pain what hurts him etc. That will help determine what he should be doing.
 
hmmm, i have suffered from lower back pain for a long time, and what really helps it is actually stretching out my hips a lot, i never neglect my hip stretches and it has helped my a ton, once i increased flexibility in my hips the back pain was greatly reduced.
 
thanks also how many exercises/stretches do you think he should do in one workout? and how many times a week should he workout?
