I read a post earlier that attributed low back pain to tight hip flexers and crunches. Makes mega sense to me. My back pain started about 5 years ago about the time I started to really work my abs. I just had spinal fusion last year. I still do crunches (maybe not anymore) and my back still hurts and my hips are tight..(I think I tore a muscle in my hip also last year) The post recommended to stop doing crunches and stretch. Can anyone recommend any alternate abdominal exercises that will not tighten my hip flexers?
