I am 45 been training in one form or another since I am 23. I did a cycle about 3 years ago, got gynecomastia which went away with treatment but I still have puffiness on my right side. As a result I have not done another cycle.

Recently I had some issues with my back, I had an MRI done and the reports reviled a number of disks that are eroding or drying out, it's referred to as "Disk Desiccation". It is usually associated with aging, however I am concerned the excessive cortical levels post cycle may have contributed to this condition, as I feel that I am to young to be having this king of degenerative disease. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I've certainly heard of spinal and disk degeneration and believe me, we all have it in one form or another as we age. That said, I don't see the corelation of high cortisol levels directly contributing to rapid disk degeneration or dessication. ESPECIALLY the heightened cortisol one my experience crashing from one cycle.

If I were you, I'd find out who the most reputable Chiropractor is in your area and pay him a visit. Bring along your X-rays/MRI and see what he has to say.

As soon as your born, your dying. That's why it's so relevant that you take good care of yourself along the way to help "limit" the ammount of wear/tear and pain you suffer as you age. You can't stop the clock, but you can slow it down to a degree.

Any way you slice it, I believe seeing a reputable Chiro will enhance your ability and certainly provide you with a higher quality of life in the long run.
