Shit, if its not one thing after another.

I tore my back up doing something stupid. The doc says at the very least I have a 'compressed vertibrate and or disk'. I go for a MRI Friday afternoon.

He has me taking prednisone and hydrocodone after the vioxx and cyclobenzaprine proved worthless.

I hurt myself by jumping down off of a 7' high retaining wall...go figure why I just had to do that.

Anyone had this type of injury ? I can barely walk, can not stand up from sitting and just generally hurt like hell. THe only positive thing is that the hydrocodone makes me feel really mellow...whatever it is.

I hear that bother. I had a herniated disc and had it removed in '84. Best thing is to use *wet* heat and a lot of it and stay flat on your back. Also from laying flat on your back pull your knees up to your chest to gently stretch the area. Just pray it's only a compressed and not herniated disc. Both hurt like a mofo so it could just be a temporary problem. If it doesn't go away like in a week it's probably a herniated disc. Find the best doc you can if you have to have surgery for it. All the best with it bro.

now this i know

dont get the surgery lay on your back with pillows under your knees

explore new treatments there is a traction treatment kinda like a rack that stretches your back

when you wake up in the morning lay in bed and use your legs to get a sideways stretch on your back

dont discount chiropractic because it will get your back limber and allow healing

dont stress your back for a few weeks and remember even if it feels better its not better yet and be careful

See if you can find a chiopractor/accupuncturist. I had a friend with the same condition that you have. All of the doctors insisted that surgery was the only option. He found a chiopractor/accupuncturist who successfully treated his condition without surgery. He said the pain relief was almost instant from his treatments. Best of luck to you bro. The chiopractor/accupuncturist he went to was Dr. McBride in Richmond, VA.

prolotherapy.com :D find a doc in your area.
