WHATSUP EVERYONE. WELL I FINALLY GOT BACK FROM THE ENDOCRINOLOGIST AND AM ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED WITH HIM.

(FOR THOSE WHO DONT KNOW MY SITUATION, HERE IS A COPY AND PASTE OF MY EARLIER THREADS TO BRING YOU UP TO DATE)
OK. finally got the blood test results back that everyone asked of me. (by the way, am going to see an endocrinologist on thurs., just wanted opinions from everyone else. if you dont remember my earlier post, here it is:

"whatsup guys. im 28yrs old. in tampa.. 5' 8 190 or so. pretty decent shape. heres my problem. i have taken many cycles of steroids in the past, but my last, of which ended in june of '05 (when i got married) consisted of enanthate and fina, have given me severe problems. i have absolutely no drive, libido wise whatsoever. it is the worst feeling in the world. it is seriously jeopardizing my relationship with my wife and even though she understands the reasons, its getting tougher and tougher to explain this over and over. for some reason after i came off this, i never recovered. i didnt do a pct (like an idiot). i have since the last 2 months tried dostinex and tried hcg which both didnt really do anything. i have an appt with an endocrinologist feb 16, but im not even sure if he will know whatsup or if an endocrinologist is who i should see. if so, should i go to a lab first to get blood tests to have on hand for the doctor? what type of blood tests should i be looking for? this may not sound serious but it really is. it is totally affecting my life and my marriage. lead me in the right direction and calm me down and tell me im not the only one this has happened to. i need to do something sooner rather than later at the mercy of my relationship and my own morale. please help!!! sorry to sound like a little bitch but i need yalls help!!"

so here are my results.. please give any opinions or EDUCATED thoughts you may have. a bit frustrated because when i got these, the nurse said, everything looks normal and i know my body and dont feel normal.

cholesterol- 160
F S H- 2.4 (RANGE- 1.6-8.0)
L H- 4.8 (RANGE- 1.5-9.3)
PROLACTIN- 7.0 (RANGE-2.0-18.0)
TSH- 3.71 (RANGE- .40-5.5
ESTRADIOL- 24 (RANGE-13-54)
TOTAL TEST- 431 (RANGE 250-1100)
FREE TEST- 81.7 (RANGE- 35.0-155)

SO THAT BRINGS YOU UP TO DATE)

ANYWAY, I FINALLY GO SEE THE ENDOCRINOLOGIST TODAY AFTER WAITING FOR A MONTH AND A HALF FOR AN OPENING.
HE REVIEWS MY LEVELS AND SAYS, EVERYTHING LOOKS NORMAL. 431 TOTAL T IS LOW JUST BECAUSE IM OVERWEIGHT SO HE SAYS, (IM 28 YRS OLD, 195 17% BF, LITTLE HIGH BUT NOT RIDICULOUS)
HE BASICALLY SAYS IN A NUTSHELL, I CANT DO ANYTHING FOR YOU. IT MUST BE IN YOUR HEAD OR WHAT I WOULD ASSUME WOULD BE MASS DEPRESSION. MASS FUCKING DEPRESSION??????? HE ASKS, WHY DID YOU TAKE STEROIDS? I SAID, WELL FOR PHYSICAL APPEARANCE MAINLY, SO HIS ASSUMPTION WAS, I WAS DEPRESSED SINCE I NO LONGER HAVE THOSE PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES, AND IN TURN NOT HAPPY WITH MY BODY NOW AND DONT HAVE THE DESIRE TO PERFORM SEXUALLY.
I KNOW ITS NOT THAT. WHAT ELSE DO I DO? GET ANOTHER OPINION? WHAT DO I DO? IM SO DISGUSTED SINCE I THOUGHT TODAY WAS THE MOMENT OF TRUTH WHERE I WAS GOING TO FIND SOMEONE THAT WOULD REALLY HELP ME!!! I WAITED A MONTH AND A HALF FOR HIM TO TELL ME THIS. WHATS MY NEXT STEP GUYS?
HELP ME. IM IN DESPERATE NEED. I REALLY REALLY WANT TO STAY AWAY FROM SELF DIAGNOSIS. THIS IS MY HEALTH AND I REALLY WANT TO GO ABOUT THIS THE RIGHT WAY!!!

AARON

Btw,

He Says No Way To Hrt, That Levels Are Completely Normal And That This Isnt A Hormone Issue. Frankly I Think Its Bullshit. But Maybe Im Wrong. I Dont Even Know Anymore. See A Urologist? See A Sex Therapist? Hrt? I Need Some Professional Advice, (although Im Not Sure If There Is Even Such Thing As "professional Advice"

just get another opinion. and from my endo. told me, is that being overweight only effects your free test, not your total. Has something to do with protein not being able to bind to proteins or something. But you'd have to be really over weight for that even. Def. see someone else.

So many MD's are a disappointment. What an uncaring ass this guy was.

At 28, test levels in the 400's are low. You should be at the top of the range with a perpetual hardon.

Depression? I'd think you know that.

I say .... Time to see a urologist who speicalizes in ED. Your health plan provider can help you find this Doc. Or you can find the web site for the major hospital your plan uses, and do a search within it. Find the uro department and look at the background of each Doc.

lion, i appreciate your responses thus far. it really is dissapointing hearing this news from that MD. with me having to wait a month and a half to finally see this guy and for him to tell me this, just really pissed me off. just delays my problems that much longer.

as far as seeing a urologist, would a urologist have anything to do with possible hormone imbalance, i.e, low test levels, and be able to treat that? should i go to another endo. doctor? i tell ya, im so frustrated now it makes me sick!!!

if you havent already, get some cialis. works wonders and will make you feel better about yourself... i am 40 and had this happen after too long a cycle...my wife knows of use and was not as pissed, but after 5 weeks she had had it...

nothing wrong with some extra help! :qt:

Your asking a endocrinologist to diagnose your sexual issue. That is like asking a car mechanic what is wrong with your broken television. It is not their specialty. He looks at blood counts each day, and assesses whether someones numbers fall into the averages deemed normal by millions of previous tests over the past years. He did his job 100% as accurately as his job entails.

Irregardless of your condition leading to your ED (which I have previously said is 100% related to a 400 something test count and still feel this), there are only three treatments: Cialis, Viagra, Levitra. Other than that there is no miracle cure for ED. You need to try one of these drugs and see if you can get some help from them.

You can still go to a urologist, but all he will do is test for blood flow to your penis using ultrasound. If he deems you have poor circulation, guess what, he'll perscribe Cialis, Viagra, or Levitra. He can look at your bloodwork and see that you have a test count that is on the low levels of normal, but if still in the normal range, he won't give you any kind of hormone therapy.

So many doctors turn into fucking moralists about HRT. It is true that your test levels are not especially low but I have found that this varies with people. There is no reason in the world that an open-minded doctor shouldn't let you experiment with HRT. I've had clients have your same experience. I call their doctors, ask them to allow the patient to experiment a month or two and frequently (but not always) the HRT does in fact make a difference despite the "low-normal" original test results.

Because HRT has become so common among baby boomers and is regarded as essential for people with HIV and some other immune disorders, there are doctors whose practices are limited to this field now. Look for one of those.

Shame you don´t have a baseline bloodwork to compare with, but chances are your baseline test is higher than test levels you have now.It would be interesting, next time, to add SHBG , DHT and DHEA.
So, you have no SEX DRIVE . This is different from having ED. I don´t see how Cialis would help.
There are a few things you could try.
Some sex therapy techniques, that I think wouldn´t be ok to discuss here, but let´s say that you should team up with your wife in search for that spark again.Just try to have fun, no pressure.
HCG 500 ui EOD for 3 to 4 weeks, along with Nolvadex 20mg ED.
Mesterolone 100mg ED for a week or so to see if some DHT would in fact change things a bit. That would not compromise your HPTA recovery. I don´t know if you have access to oral testosterone undecylinate ( Androxon) but that also would clear any doubts about your state being test related and would not hurt your testicle´s ability to function properly.
You´re young for HRT, so my guess is that you´ll have to either manage to raise test levels through medication ( LH analogues, anti-estrogens) or wait to see if your body/mind will respond with time.

Get a second opinion, bro. I suffer from hypothyroidism and deal with endos on a regular basis. The problem is that most endocrinologists deal almost exclusively with test results and numbers. They don't care how you feel as long as your numbers fall into the "normal range". My problem was that the Synthroid I was prescribed didn't do anything to get rid of the "brain fog" associated with hypothyroidism. BUT, my numbers while on Synthroid fell into the normal range of things so, therefore, I was fine. No matter how shitty I felt, they kept saying that I was fine. Endo after endo came and went...finally I got a younger, more progressive endo who decided to try supplementing the Synthroid (T4) with Cytomel (T3) EVEN THOUGH MY LEVELS FELL INTO THE NORMAL RANGE. Lo and behold the sun came through and burned away the fog and everyone lived happily ever after. Not saying that you'll have a happy ending, but that's how things went down for me. Good luck, take care, and stay safe.
