Ladies that have had a BA - mine is scheduled for the end of November. What tips do you have for recovery? Any tips, experiences, advise is welcome!!!
Silicone and under the muscle (I don't have enough breast tissue to go over).
Thandie, how quickly were you able to get back into routine? I worry about being able to train clients afterward. I am giving myself 9 days off. My doctor mentioned I could use a recumbent bike for the first 4 weeks after surgery and then do as I felt like doing. She also asked me not to lift any weights for my clients. What was your experience with your training before/after the surgery?
Also - this may be silly but how did you handle telling people or responding to people's comments?
thanks LG - I have another appointment next week so I'm going to ask again too. I figured the blood pressure and it changes your red blood cell count but I just wasn't really clear.Ok, well, I was told no steroids for 6 months prior to procedure, because it does f* with your horomones & blood pressure. IMO- I think its a pre-caution for when your under.
The protien & supp's ( I asked too- cuz I was like "WTF! No protien shakes!" lol) is something to do with the bleeding during & after the procedure. Appearently it can cause more bleeding.. which I went "huh" too cuz you would think protien would help you heal more quickly...
I did question it- but they are professionals, so I didnt push the topic![]()
Goodness, thanks!!! Nov, 20th. I'm the same as you. I started losing them about 2 years ago in stages. Lost a lot about 8 months ago and then again here in the past month or so. I, like you, don't think people will even notice because I'm not going that large and I wear a sports bra all the time! I agree, I don't really care what they think - and most know I have been losing them - it is obvious but I wasn't sure how to handle the negative comments. It really isn't anyone's business. Got you on the chest workouts 2 weeks prior and thanks to both of you guys for the tip on protein and the other supplements. This helps tremendously. I hear these things but I like to understand why! I took a look at the site you posted - thank you so much. Once I have more time to go through it all I may ask you about some products!First, do not train chest for about 2 weeks. DO NOT lift anything, even for your clients, I believe is 4 weeks if I remember. If you do, you might end up bleeding heavily during surgery and might rupture some stitches if you lift after, so is not worth the risk. I worried not working out b/c I thought my body was going to get soft, but nothing changes. You might feel is soft, but is not. Once you go back to hit the weights is back to normal.
I was lucky to find makemeheal.com and I bought a package for instructions they had; and I followed it to a T. I never bruised, just the normal discomfort, and very uncomfortable it is.
As far as people asking questions I was a 32C before surgery, but got smaller from training. Once I got surgery, people didn't noticed. But, if they did, I'd tell the truth. So what? if you got your boobies done. It's your money and MOST women have them done.
Oh, yes, used the recumbent bike, you'll want to do something after a while and that will make you feel better, but don't do it untill you're ready.
Just remember. NO PROTEIN SHAKES before or after. That's b/c PS have stimulants and that will bring your HR high, therefore will increase blood flow and might have heavy bleeding.
NO aspiring, salt, Vitamin E before and after. READ everything in nutrition packages b/c vitamin E is in a lot more things then you know, including Protein shakes.
When are you having them done?
If you have more questions, please ask..

You guys are the greatest.
LOL - November, November!! Don't scare me Thandie!Wow, you'll have new boobies in 3 days. Remember to rest, rest, rest. Make sure you sleep alone for the first 2 nights. You don't want OneBreath elbowing you in the middle of the night. You'll be restless, although druged out with pain killers. Percoset worked great for me. Some Dr.s give tylenol, which you'll be fine with, but after 3 nights of drugs. Initially you'll need major pain killers. Some people have high tolerance of pain, but you don't want to find out if you don't have it.
You're going to love them. It's one of the best things I''ve ever done.
Good luck with everyrhing!
If you remember of anything else you want to know, let me know..
LOL - November, November!! Don't scare me Thandie!
Ok guys - I need more help from those of you that have had an augmentation. I went for my second consult today to get some things squared away. When I went last March I apparently wasn't as muscular - we had decided it best to go under the muscle because I am on the verge of not having enough breast tissue to go over. Today when she examined me she concluded I could go either way - I have just 2cm of breast tissue which is the minimal required. She has worked with bodybuilders in the past and has put the implants under the muscle. However, when we spoke about my training, the potential to one day compete (want to leave my options open in case I get the fever), and my current muscle definition she gave me a list of pros and cons of under vs. over.
The questions I have are:
1. What did you do and why? Include whether they are silicone or saline. I have saline. They're more natural looking
2. If over, can you see the implant or feel any wrinkling etc.? Can you see your muscle definition in your pecs still? How do they move while lifting? I definitely see my pecs definition.
3. If under, when you flex do they pop up? Can you see your muscle definition? How do they move while lifting? Yes, when I flex they do pop up, but I dont walk around with my pecs flexed, lol. You'll be able to see your muscle definitions. They also pop when you lift, but it won't show through your clothes. You'll feel it.
I get the pros and cons of over/under with the exception to weight lifting and possibly competing. My doctor recommended I ask you guys (I told her about how helpful you have been!). She could go either way. She showed me hers (under the muscle) and when she flexes they pop up a little.
I need to have a decision made by November 3rd. If you don't want to post up you can PM me. I'd appreciate anything you have!!!!
Thanks ladies! I am set for under the muscle - second measurement showed not enough breast tissue once again so I don't want to take any chances. Had my pre op appointment and am ready to go for the 20th.
Last question - did any of you use scar reducing ointment or strips? I've seen both and I'd like to know which works better. I scar terribly bad and I want to do all I can to work on it up front.
Wait. So I can start applying the cortizone as soon as the bandages are removed? I don't have to wait until it heals to start? I know some of the other creams you get you can't apply until the wound closes.
