I'm gonna be in Austin this Saturday night, and I know that there are at least 4 or 5 Austin folks on this board. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, what's up. Can I get some info on what to hit up, while I'm there. I'm bringing my Carveboard (skateboard) cuz I know that there are a lot of hills in the area, but other than all I know is I'm going to see STP and The Crystal Method saturday night.
Any info will be much appreciated.

Must eat at "Oasis", it overlooks alot of aesthetics of the city and is the perfect place to inhale the green leaf. peace to jig time

Check out Lake Travis and go to Sam Hill. Awesome club I don't know if it will be happening yet since it is Spring and not Summer but what the heck. Just to see travis is spectacular.

Recipe for the Perfectly debauched weekend:
Day
Hippy Hollow swimming area, Lake Travis, go down Commanche Trail off Hwy 620. Bathing suit optional.
Afternoon
Watch the sunset over Lake Travis with drinks and potato skins at Oasis, on the the same road - Commanche Trail.
Dinner
"The County Line Barbeque" located on hwy 2222 at hwy 360 (Capitol of Texas hwy). (2222 is the road from Lake Travis back to Austin, so your going right by there anyway).
Nite
An evening of partying - see 6th street between Congress and Red River. While your walking thru the area check out "The Driscoll Hotel", big white elephant of a victorian hotel, 6th st. about a block east of Congress decore in the "Roosevelt era RailRoad Robber Baron" style.

Awesome place. Make sure you get the shrimp appetizer they ARE KILLER!!!

Agreed on the "County line" suggestion. Great food and its BYOB, yea thats right, you can bring a 12 pack of your own into the restaurant. Its kind of in the middle of knowhere though, good luck finding it.

By the way, nobody has mentioned 6th I don't think.

If you are looking for fun, go to 6th street around 11 and stay till 2:30. Lots of college sluts there, plus 20 or 30 bars/clubs one after another.

There's a skate park in South Austin, I know the people who own it. It's supposed to be pretty nice. I'd suggest Oasis over just about any place on the lake because 1) Easy to get to and 2) View. The nachos are the best food item. Be careful if you drink, as cops camp out next to the place looking for easy targets.

County line is good, as well. If you go to Oasis, you've already passed it. There is also another one, on Bee Caves Rd (FM 1422 I think). Never been to that one, but from what I hear it's the more "romantic" of the two.

Security will try to bust your balls at the Music Hall. I know, I worked there until recently. Keep your contraband in your crotch. Btw, if they say doors open at 9:00, they won't until atleast 9:30.

Have fun, this is an awesome town. :)

The University of Texas campus and the "Drag" would be a great place to use your skateboard. 6th Street is a must of course for nightlife. I recommend Antone's or Oceans 11. After you party Katz' is a good place to eat. I'm talking sitting down around 3am.
