I forgot where this program came from. I think its from the DiVX program, not sure if everyone is familiar with it. Anyway sometimes it comes packaged with the program "GAIN." Its like an advertising program that keeps popping up every so often to annoy the shit out of me. I was wondering if anyone know how to uninstall it because I couldn't do it that easily.

um, no. its not listed. i'm not that stupid

yeah its gator. but take a look on the website and try to DL divx. i guess awhile ago I picked up the divx/gator (gain) bundle.

When you install programs that come with gator at some point in the install wizard you will be able to uncheck the boxes that install that BS stuff. Most people just hit next->next->next->next and get stuck with that shit. You should uninstall then reinstall and watch for that step.

OK try this- star/search/files or folders and do a search for GAIN

when a few of the results come up, on should look like a windows program group folder named GAIN. Open that, then click on 'About GAIN', then go to the 'Managing GAIN Messages' tab in the window that comes up. Down near the bottom of that window click on 'for a list of GAIN products and services on your computer CLICK HERE'

that will show you a list of programs that WILL show up in add/remove progs, if you un-install all of the programs that show up on that list, then you will get rid of GAIN.
