i, mr hamstershaver participated in your karma store as you can see in the log below

"hamstershaver donated 2 karma to sawastea on 07-Jun-2005 - 03:32 PM"

at the time of said donation, hamstershaver had a grand total of 390,019 k pts
after the donation had gone through i ended up with 389,985 k pts
this saddens hammy deeply as i should of been at 390,017 k pts after the above transaction was completed
not only did hammy lose an extra 32 pts but he lost one pt of k power on top of it :(
is there anyway i can recoup this loss

If I knew for sure I was the only one it affected, I would say. But, I don't and I don't want to be accused of "being a prude" (I nearly choked after writing that). I told 2 Elite Mods about it; it is up to them to share with it GS.
 
You actually fell for Sawagays whinings about karma distribution? Are you both heading to Bed Bath and Beyond later to pick out sheets?

Confused with the karma store. It takes 20 percent of your total and asks how much you wanna donate? I don't get it. Does it only take a percent and you can donate a whole bunch?

You're plat, so if you were to donate, say, 10,000 to George Spellman, he would recieve 9,000 karma points and EF would take 1,000 karma points as 'tax', thus costing you 10,000 karma points to donate 9,000.

For non-plats, they would spend 10,000 karma points in order to donate 7,000 to George Spellwin, with EF taking a tax of 30% (0.3 multiplier).

It can get a bit tricky if you're trying to donate a specific amount to someone in order for them to be at a certain karmic number. You're best bet is to whip out the good ol' calculator in that case.

Thanks! So 10% of 2000 is 200, so that means that the 'EF government' gets 200 karma points as tax, and 1800 goes through to your intended target.

If you're trying to give someone exactly 5,000 karma points, though, be careful. Multiplying 5,000 through by 1.1 to make up for the EF Store tax of 0.1 and donating 5,500 will only have 4,950 going through, so be careful and do the math correctly if you're donate specific amounts.

I think the problem must be that as a non-Platinum, there is a 30% tax on transfers of Karma - making your tax of the transfer of 2 Karma Hits fractional. (As a Platinum Member, the tax on Karma transfers is only 10%) So, perhaps the best solution would be to upgrade your account to Platinum and be a little more generous in your Karma gifts.

Here's where a Platinum Membership comes in. You also get more Karma when you become a Platinum Member of the forums. Now you get 500 Karma hits for each month of a Platinum Membership that you invest in. Get a Month to Month membership and you get 500 Karma hits when you join and 500 more EVERY time your membership renews. As a plat, take the number you want them to receive and divide it by 0.9 to work out what it'll cost you.

Eg. you want to give 1800: 1800 / 0.9 = 2000

As non-plat, divide by 0.7

Don't ask about fractions, looks like there's a x10 multiplier when you get small fractions. :)
 
George, I agree, Hammy should go platinum, I'm not sure why he hasn't yet, maybe some bombs would help?
 
It'd teach me to write the fine print. (I've learned my lesson already, now, in case anyone else was thinking of 'educating' me)

It's dangerous out here in C&C. I think I'll scuttle back to the weights forum.

If you wanna see another uprising against the Bomb Squad, bombing Hammy would be a good way to start it.
 
On that note, can we bring back the mega blasts? Maybe we can change the rotation from 40+ to 20.
