I saw them on sale, 4 for $3.99 so I decided to try them out. I think I've seen tham at Costco before for like $25 for a 24 pack.

Serving size 1 can (325 ml)
cals 170
Total fat 9g
sat fat 1.5 g
cholesterol 15mg
Total carbs 4g
fiber 3g
sugar 1g
Protein 20g

I bought the Creamy Vanilla which tastes much much better than I would have expected. Any one got more info on these that I should consider before I get stoked and buy crates of this shit?

i normally hate the atkins products cause they usually taste like shit. however i was also pleasently surprised with the advantage shakes. Give the chocolate royale (not chocolate delight) a try and let me know what you think.

taste is awesome

Please post the nutional label....I bet they are JUNK bro......9g of fat in a drink is way too much! Make your own or get EAS' myoplex carb sense....much better product for exercise enthusiasts......

I've never seen a protein shake where soybean oil comes before the whey protein, but maybe the extra fat is for people on the atkins diet <shrug>

Seems to be a lower quality protein included, but there don't seem to be any horrible for you ingredients in there.

Atkins was NOT developed nor meant to appeal to physcial enthusiasts.......it's for seditary, overweight, somewhat lazy people, looking to lose weight ASAP......

just to clear tings up, I'm not on Atkins. I jsut saw the saheks adn the macros listed on the label and thought it was a good find for as a meal replacement for those times when you don't have time to eat real food. So Jkurz, what is it exactly that makes it so horrible? Is it on par or worse than what they put in protein bars, like myoplex or nitrotech? Just curious so I know what to watch out for if I run into products like this again.

The shakes are not "ok" for someone trying to cut up....esp. one who trains....they are the lesser of two evils, but I think personally I'd go with the bars, simple because whey protein is in the top 3 ingredients........seriously, see if you can take them back...say u had an allergic reaction.....get a supplement produced by a bodybuilding supp company.........EAS, Twinlab, etc....

Wow that a pretty strong statement. Seems that most diets on this board are related to either low carb or no carb. Atkins was a pioneer with this concept and prove the benefits which we see in today's low carb craze. Most of these diets (i.e south beach, ckd) are derivatives from this concept.

I ocassionally do the diet to loose weight b/c i find it to be less catabolic than a low fat low, cal diet, and very simple to do. I admit not to looking to see where every single gram of fat in a product may come from but then again i am not a professional body builder. But by no means do i consider myself either seditary, overweight, or lazy.

Bars are not, by any stretch of imagination, better than these shakes. No one is suggesting that they are used as part of a daily diet, and for once-in-a-while, stuck-in-a-corner, they are a much better alternative than bars are.
