astral projection

New member
I have heard stories that people do it willingly and stories that people have experienced it while asleep. Now, for those that think it happened to them while sleeping, how can one make a difference between a vivid dream and a real Astral projection? Is that the same as when people are in the hospital and see themselves lying in the bed and everyone around them?

Ahhhh, I need to google what the hell your talking about.

I sort of had one crashing a motorcycle but i think it was more like time slowed down a huge amount. Then I hit, bounced, rolled, stood up and said Oh shit. Next question was, do I have all my parts. Strangely you don't know your seriously hurt until well after the fact.

Out of body I doubt anything I have done would be.

my husband was telling me that when he was a kid,he got hit by a car, ended up in the hospital with internal bleeding and stuff and he says that he remembers clearly that he saw his own body on that hospital bed, his mom sittin there next to him and the doctors from like somewhere above. Weird

I got my leg caught in a tractor wheel when i was a child. Wheel flipped me on my face, ran me over then I got run over buy a wagon full of gravel. Last thing my father said was " keep away from the wheel or you'll get your leg caught in it". 5 minutes later. All I remember was laying there with my shine bone sticking out of my skin in a weird way. Then it pissed me off because they keep me up all night at the hospital. In hind sight they were probably afraid if i fell asleep i wouldn't wake up. Worst F'ed up I've ever been. No out of body I can remember though.

AP is the ability to travel to other dimensions or locations and visit or take part in real time/past/ future at the desired destinations or with certain individuals.

it is not the same with "near death" or out of body experiences...AP is on a different vibrational frequency- so viewing yourself is uncommon/unlikely...

it is a learned and practiced method of meditation of viewing distant locations and people. sometimes called "remote viewing" and there are other terms...

Iam not well educated in this. and cannot really expand on the topic. we do have a forum here that iam sure could explain further details,( MIND BODY SPIRIT)...cool stuff, but very very in-depth and out of reach for most people to accept the ideas and understand.

This reminds me of the tibetian monks and their hidden temple or city (I forgot) that they describe and the westerners were mercilessly looking for it and couldnt find it. Its thought that they have been visiting it by leaving the body.

I havent read at all on this subject. Is it possible for a person to die if the body gets disturbed by something while doing this?

iam not quite sure of Death being able to occupy the same time space- during a practiced AP...obviously we dont know. as Death has never been viewed and then reported except by people during/or returning from "Near Death" experiences...

I think i understand your question as if, A Monk were to be in the middle of AP- would he die if someone were to come and shoot him in the head- or something to that effect???.... :worried:

no, more of - if a monk is in that state and someone comes in and disturbs him in any way (not kill him, but just brake his concentration) would he die?

NO....you simply return to this dimension...LOL@ "simply"... when you abruptively get woken up during a meditative state- its alittle uncomfortable and you are disoriented...this i know from experience..even when the "return" is natural and at will, you take care in re-awakening to this time and place...meaning coming back slowly and upon wakening stay calm and relaxed for a few moments. the brain waves induced to achieve this- are not normal functioning patterns that allow us to be in our conscious state of mind during normal physical every day lives
...theta and delta wave patterns must be attained- delta being the deepest and required to AP...
we live in the "beta" range- this is normal brain wave pattern that gets us around during the day and to our friends BBQ on time.
the "alpha" range is when we are starting to balance the brain waves out- this occurs at pre-sleep or drowsiness...

Something tells me you get hurt a lot.

How do you let go of your thoughts so you are able to meditate? I cant get my thoughts to leave just to fall asleep (as Velvett said :) )

it takes alot of practice!!!!...to achieve lucid consciousness in a delta range requires years of practice unless you are using brain syncro CD's or tapes...
you have to concentrate on breathing techniques and focus points when starting out in meditation just to get into alpha without falling asleep...the many busy thoughts that occur during the first initial phases are normal...the mind will wonder randomly and at great speed...unpleasantness will also accompany these times of training. its truely an excersise protocol....very demanding in at the begining, but soon you can get into alpha and its very peaceful and relaxing...it also allows the body and mind to rest...it will feel very refreshing upon wakening. like 4-6 hours of sleep. :)

what is the easiest thing to focus on when you are just starting? How did you start?

Sorry, I'm a bugger :(

lots of books!!!...i put myself in an all white room, in a white Gei (sp)...focus breathing in a controlled manner, pick something i want to go into deep thought about- go there. the reason i go into an all white room is there is nothing to draw my attention away from what iam trying to focus on...and my attire blends into the white scheme... :karate:

This is impossible. The "spirit" is the result of organic brain function, and cannot leave the body. These people are hallucinating.

Took years of work and practice with a woman named Helen Bangs in CA. Also some other really interesting things you can do once you master that. But lose one day of meditation and the gift is lost.
:santa:

Its amazing what you do remember and what you don't... I've been suffering short term memory with all of this medical issues but as vivid as can possibly be I do remember when I was maybe 4ish... and digging in my uncles cabinets and came across tranquilizer in a bottle that of course wasn't kid proof... for some reason they had a coating on them that seemed to be sweet, I thought they were M&M's until I sucked all the coating off of them... not sure how many I did that with until I stumbled and fell out of the door. I was rushed to the ER and its like I could vividly see my grandmother slapping me to keep me away, then like I was watching from a distance as they inserted tubes into my nose to pump out my stomach. How at that young of an age do I remember it... and still have not what is a vision of the doctors above me but a vision of me lying there and the nurses and doctors working on me... I really don't know.

but I though people have their eyes closed when they start meditating. Plus, if you live on a noisy street is not helping either, right?

YES....your eyes are to be closed...you must/should be absent of noise, except for a "mantra" can be used...as seen in the movie The Last Samauri, when Ken Wanatabe is in the temple doing a meditation with an "OM" mantra...this is also can be used as a focus point, and will take you into alpha very quickly...
so- close your eyes in a quiet secluded place. this is ideal. :)

how do I clear my mind and what thought should I focus on?

This would be very hard for me to do
