Is this a decent jacket for a girl?

http://www.ridegear.com/cgi-bin/Sof...ts.html?L+scstore+bprn0241ffc921c9+1149035003

it does go with the bike right?

118j7dh.jpg

I would post a new pic o fthe bike, but it looks lighter in color cause it was taken at a very bright spot

I like the cut on the jacket! The question is, if you wipe out at 70 mph, will it keep you from becoming one w/ the asphalt?

it does have all the paddings and protection needed. All the rest is up to my luck I guess. I dont want leather tho, mesh and textile would have to do.

Not one of those jackets go with th ebike. The R1 is black with wine color :(
The last one does white with black and it is a classic cut. I want that jacket and a bike to go with it. Or maybe just a guy with a bike to hold on too :p

yeah, its a nice jacket with a nice price too :lmao:

Get the guy first and then he'll buy you one ;)

Yo girlie, that R1 gives me a woody.....im still rockin' R6 for what its worth.....thinking about Yamaha R1 or a Honda CBR100RR......

And i see there is 3 yamahas and one Suzuki in that yard....who's the outcast (suzuki)?

and oh yeah, that jacket really does match the bike.....and i love that first pic of you on the bike.......hot.....

Joe Rocket actually makes pretty good stuff for the price. If the jacket fits you properly then buy it. That's a killer price and it does go with the bike. :) Happy shopping chica.

As long as it has the padding and protection, the style is your choice. I think the style for a woman is fine. What's really more important is if you like it. I would just make sure that it's durable and if it would protect you in a fall etc... Happy riding and be safe.

well, that guy on the black R1 used to have 1000RR and it got stolen. The Suzuki is not the only outcast...lol. There is one more guy with JSX750, another with a Ninja, Busa etc.....all yugos, except 1 italian and 1 romanian ;|)

I will have to measure myself to figure out what size I need. Do the jackets for girls run big or just right?

get a white neo daytona Icon

I have one
they make one for chics too
if I find it on a good sale. 350$ is a bit too much for me now.

I looked at the Yamaha jackets on their home page and I saw nothing good. Plus, for some reason they have jackets only for the blue R1 and the bright red R6

we dont really ride in fall, this is Michigan, weather is too fucked up.

With Joe Rocket they seem to run a little big. Measuring is the best way to make sure you get the right size. If it is a little big that's good incase you want to wear extra body armor.

So, its good idea to get a size bigger?

my next purchase...... a damn bike!!!!!!! Im so jealous

FG i like your choice...JR has been improving their gear all around...starting to see pro riders at the track wearing their equipment more and more...it is not as "fitted" as Icon or Alpinestar and some of the others...As ~D~ said , JR runs a little on the loose side, so i would purchase "your" size...you should be good to go.

you dont think I can find anything cheaper than that? I like that cut, I dont liek the flat short jackets

Yes, expensive, but on the other hand, cheaper than grinding off a bone or skin

you might find a deal online...dennis kirk or some of the other sites. JR will be hard to beat for price...they are the "Target" of motorcycle gear...

what does hold up great in crash AND keeps you warm in cool summer nights?

Warm and cool at the same time?

Well, ALL summer gear makes you vulnerable when you crash. It's the trade off for keeping you cool, however, is much better then nothing.

As for high quality stuff leather in general, I would say Dainese, Alpinestars, Spidi, Vanson are very high quality, hold up great in crashes, however it's a little pricey.

not warm and cool....just warm when the summer night gets chillier. During the day, I dont wear protective gear, cause we dont ride on highways or deserted roads that much.

Dont want leather, way too much money

I found some jackets for like 80$, but dont like the style and cut of it. I think I would go with this one.

What is candy paint? My husband is talking bout painting the bike and I have a feeling he is gonna ruin perfectly fine bike AGAIN

Well, you dont seem to appreciate gear for what it is. Even textile crap is better then nothing, and cheap and comfortable.

So your husband does wheelies with you on the back and you are not wearing gear? If something goes wrong, you will be really fucked up.

yeeaaaahhh.....I know thats bad - the wheelies. But he never does them at a high speed. Its always in the low ones when he is lifting it up and he doesnt ride that long that way. But I hate it. My ass is flying out of the seat right away.

I like the pants in your post above. Gloves, yeah, I have to get those too, always forget. In teh local store they are like 50$

Dude, I dont know what it is, but in Michigan nobody rides with full street gear. Ever. Only when its a cool day do they wear a riding jacket.

Your excuses suck.

1. If he does wheelies above 20 MPH+, you can get really fucked up. It doesnt take that much speed to get messed up. Go outside, and sweep your hand accoss the pavement, now imagine sliding on the pavement at 50PH with no gear on.

2. Just because other people dont wear gear, doesnt mean you shouldnt.

Lucikly, most riders wear gear here in socal.

oh, dear, you are slamming me hard up in here.

What do the gear pants have that I need? Why cant I wear jeans? Its unbelievably hot at 80+ degrees riding in a tank top, I cant imagine having full street gear on me :(

Gear pants have armor/padding/material that is more resistant to falling apart once hitting the pavement.

Jeans are worthless, the pavement eats through them very quickly. Do this, run full speed and do a baseball slide on the street, now do it with gear on.

There is summer gear that will keep you as cool as a t shirt. Not the best for protection, but better then nothing.

Anyway, Im done here, gear is a personal issue. If you dont want to wear it, thats fine, its your skin/body afterall.

I have titanium mesh jacket and plates, cost me 200 dollars for jacket.

Also, why are you even getting involved here?

you are here..so, tell me - a pants and jacket or a whole body suit?

foreigngirl said:

If you are cruising around town/bike nites, jacket, pants, boots and gloves will do. Some people ride in a suit everywhere they go, but I think thats a little extreme.

If you are worried about heat, once again, all gear manufacter's make summer/mesh gear. It will keep you cool, I promise.

If you are riding in the canyons, or really hauling ass, a suit is the best way to go along with race boots and gloves.

At the very minimum, Jacket/Jeans, Gloves and boots. They now sell "street" jeans which hold up better then regular jeans if you still want to wear jeans.

I'm not trying to be the gear nazi, like I said previously, it is a personal choice.

Feel free to ask anymore questions.

you just made me think with that pavement comment. And when I told my husband he agreed that it would damage the shit out o fme. He had a friend that got fucked up like that. I aint taking no chances now. I saw the girls riding jeans. That was a good idea to do that. The pants are nice too. Can I wear the guys pants? They have better cargo-looking style. I think I would go with the mesh jacket.

Best thing to do is go to the nearest motorcycle gear dealer and just try stuff on.

www.newenough.com for an online dealer. They have a whole ladies section.

Painting a bike will ruin its value really fast- if there is NO NEED. A custom job will cost lots of money you will never re-coop...the Yam paint on the R1 is awesome...i suggest he leave it alone IMO.

gotta go. BBL :)

yeah, I know that he is gonna ruin it. He played with painting on his first bike, but that was a 1500$ bike, not 12000$.

Even a custom job to make it all just the wine color it is will cost too much?

I like it as it is too.

You can still crash on "regular street rides".

I believe you made a great decision buying gear.

Dont let this be you.

And you know what the ironic part is, EVERYWHERE those jackets and pants and gloves have that kevlar or tough padding, such as the elbows, knuckels, back etc, i mean every exact place there would have been extra padding i had the worst road rash there, so gear would have virtually saved ALL my rash!

now the broken foot and wrist im not so sure of...lol

You might have broken your wrist, but if you had some same race boots on, I think your foot would have held up.

That would look very sexy FG! Damn, wish I could do that. That would seriously up my sexy factor...lol.
