Personally i think there should be a new band created for a select few individuals that can't control making asses out of themselves here at EF. they add nothing to the site, hell, they actually do more damage to the site than good. i'm not running the show though, just my $0.02.

sorry dude, i'm trying to use a color that shows up well on the black background, but using white kind of sucks because when the black background eventually fades away into the sunlight, all my font will be white and hard to read. i didn't really think about that until this morning.

short version - I'm a psych major and a criminal justice minor. i plan on going to law school after i get my BA.

i am actually planning on going to law school. for some reason i want to be a lawyer. go figure! i definetly don't want to be a psychologist (my major). i applied to be a Criminal Justice major at first but was denied. there are only 3 criminal justice professors at my school. that sucks because they can only teach so many classes per semester and there are a limited number of seats availible. when i started school last fall, they only accepted 45 new freshman CJ majors that semester and another 15 that were already students and had applied to change their major.

now i could still apply to be a CJ major but it's extremely competitive. the students with the highest GPAs are considered first. once you apply for the CJ major, you have to interview with all 3 professors in the department. i would have no problem with the interview as i get along quite well with 2 of the 3 professors. the third one i really don't like but i'm sure i could get through an interview with him no problem. the problem to applying for CJ major is my GPA. my GPA is a 2.86 right now. i could still apply, but my chance of getting accepted is slim even if i nail the interviews down.

so i applied to be a CJ Minor which was as simple as filling out the forms. i had to become a CJ Minor to continue taking CJ classes. when scheduling for the new semester begins, all CJ classes are closed and you have to get "pink slipped" into the classes, which means getting permission from the professor. they have to close all the CJ classes because in the past everyone has scheduled themselves into the CJ classes and there were no leftover seats for freshman and sophmore CJ majors (seniors get to pick classes first, then juniors, and it goes down from there).

i've had a class with each of the 3 professors and one of them i can't stand. his teaching style is, well, completely disorganized. you can't learn a damn thing in his class. i was advised by the head of the department to NOT apply for the CJ major as i would have to take classes with the professor i don't like. being a CJ minor, i can avoid further classes with that professor yet still make the requirements to get my minor.

psychology was my 2nd choice when i applied to the university. i didn't know what else to pick. the sciences and engineering feilds interest me but the higher level math trips me up and i don't want to go into engineering or any science feilds. computer stuff is rediculously hard to get a good job with anymore, especially with outsourcing and a high level of unemloyed people in that feild all fighting for jobs. i don't want to be a teacher, so that ruled out a lot of majors that pretty much lead to a teaching career or a worthless degree (i used to work with 3 people that weren't using their degrees - 1 history major working as a cook, 1 english major working as a cook, and a bartender who had his Master's in history, none of them using their degree post-college). at least with psychology i can get a $25K/year job if need be. wouldn't be the best money, but people are so fucked up in this world that i'd at least have some good stories to tell :lmao:

so with a psych major and a CJ minor i think i can do well background wise once i complete law school. at least that's what i'm hoping. i'm sure it'd help, and it's probably better than going into a pre-law program as i'd have education on 1 thing relevant to law (criminal justice) and another that could be helpful as a lawyer (psych).

I am pretty certain that something will be done about the immaturity being displayed by a few select members of this site. let's think about this from a rational standpoint for a minute. if you were the owner of a board, would you want a few individuals to chase away new business simply because they were being immature? i know i wouldn't want that occuring on a board i had put a lot of time and effort into. i think it's safe to say that the childishness will end soon.

Oh, and my second question is...why don't you think they implemented the mods bomb before they did the plat. bomb? Man, I really should get some green karma for this question.

the answer to that question is easy. Moderators have always possessed the "ban stick." they really don't need to "plat bomb" members when they can simply ban them temporarily or for good. a full banning would be worse for them than having to change your color so people can read your posts. of course, banning plat members is a bigger deal than banning non-plats. they pay for the site, so that takes a bit more "permission" or else the moderators could chase away desired business for the site.
