He's a nut for sure.....but he's probably better than what we had before. I am wary of him though, I think he's "potentially" dangerous. People of his type of religious fundamentalism have a hard time keeping it in the bag......and I'm not talking about some silly little songs or prayers. I just don't trust them, and I don't like that they feel that all those that don't share their fundamentalism are "damned" and that they need to do everything in their power to "save us". The fact that he answers to "his" higher power is what worries me. No matter what anyone say's, the highest power in the land is the United States constitution. This country was founded on that. Yes the people who penned it were religious, but they had enough sense to keep their own beleifs out of it. Those who perport to answer to a higher power use that as an excuse to try to circumvent the constitution. That's a no-no. Abortion is the most prime example of this. If you're religious and don't beleive in abortion, don't have one, try to convince people it's wrong.......but don't dare try to "force" that decision on others who don't share your views. That's what this country was founded on. I don't like abortion, but I won't...and most importantly "can't" tell a woman what to do with her body. She has to live with her decision, as do all of us live with ours. The constitution provides us basic human rights which NO ONE has the right to abrogate no matter what they beleive in, but past that all of us choose our own way and we have to live with those decisions. It's not someone else's place to tell us how to live if what we're doing doesn't abrogate someone else's basic rights. And I fully realize that there are alot of laws in this country which don't adhere to that principle.....ie it being illegal for us to use gear, smoke pot etc....

Yes, I think on average yes they will do a more ethical job. Now there are some non christians that have moral and ethical because their parents did a good job raising them that would also do a good job. But a true Christian will do even a better job because he knows he is being watch ALL the time. And they also know that God judges leaders and teachers harder than He does regular Christians. Also you can tell if they are true Christians by their actions.

Ya'll are forgetting a very big positive about Ashcroft. Since he is a Christian he not only answers to man but to a higher power. And since he takes his commitment to Christ seriously, he will do a much better, moral and ethical job than his heathen liberal predecessor that had absolutely zero character.

If you are talking about the catholic church yes their is alot of deception, killing and unChristians like behavior in the early catholic church. Matter of fact, I don't trust the vatican now. Catholics(as people are fine) I just don't think the leaders in Rome are.
