AS usage and calories...... doesnt make sense

i dont understand why one must eat insane amounts of food and calories each day to gain on AS. AS were made for PROMOTING weight gain even if you ate or not. Im sure when doctors prescribe AS to pateints they dont tell them they dont have to eat a zillion calroies a day, why? because they dont. AS will make you gain weight with or without food thats why they were made. i just dont see the reason for eating 3000 plus calories a day. my friend ate around 2000 cals a day and STILL gained muscle mass and nice weight on a test cycle.
what gives?

Idunno, considering money doesnt grow on trees (at least around my area) people definately want to make the most of their cycles and (if they are bulking) gain as much as they can. Seriously, do you think someone who wqas eating 2000 cals a day would gain as much as someone who was eatiing 3500 cals a day? I would certainly hope not.

FIRST LAW OF THERMODYNAMICS:

ENERGY IN - ENERGY OUT = ENERGY ACCUMILATED (simplified version)

energy is obviously food/calories, now if you taking in more energy then you burn off, then you have an accumilation of energy (tissue generated), if you take in less then you burn then you have negetive energy accumilation (tissue loss).

now if thats too complicated for you to grasp ill simplifiy things a bit more, look at AS as blue print for a house, now to make that house a reality you will need building materials (lots of them) or else all you end up with is an imaginary house

last point in mind, have you ever seen a massive bodybuilder eat? 3000cals as you outlined in your post as "massive" amounts of food is just a snack to a serious bodybuilder, general rule of thumb is 20cals per lb of body weight, more may be required to gain optimum amounts of muscle. as far as your friend is concerned i hardly doubt you would classifie him as being anything massive, else he might just have excelent genetics (1% of population have those) and will gain no matter what he does if thats the case
