Hey guys,
i was just wowndering what an arnold press was. I have never heard of this efore and i am not sure exactly what it is.
Later Ben

It's a dumbell shoulder press. You start with the weights down and in front of you with the palms of your hands facing your body. As you press up you rotate out so that when you are overhead your palms are facing away from you. Then reverse the order on the way down. Good shoulder exercise just stay light on the weights.

Cheers,
Scotsman

yeah they are as my 5x5 progresses they have become somewhat hard so i may just switch to normal DB presses

i can answer that for you if you dont mind, yes thats ok as long as you are maintaining good form. 50lbs is not a lot on arnold presses. your cool

50 lbs is great for an Arnold press. It's all relative to his development and time he has been training eatbig. I hate when people belittle other peoples poundages. That is one of my biggest pet peeves.

Okay, back to arnold presses. I really feel they are a waste. I feel a dumbell press is going to give you more overall growth than doing that little twisty thing at the top of the movement. If anybody can show me an EMG study on the twist hitting the medial delt more I am willing to look at it. Until then, I would just stick with presses.

As for anybody saying anything about your weights, ignore them benny. Compare yourself to yourself only.
