Although AOD is good, you can't compare it to ED2.

"Even now we have your darling Linda's soul...sheeeee sufferrrrrrrs in torment!!!"

Bruce Campbell just keeps getting better looking, and funnier, as he gets older...he's like the James Brolin of baby boomers with a little Leslie Nielson/William Shatner second half of career comic vibe. He even looks good in those gadawful sci-fi channel productions.

for sure. you prefer it over ED1/2? I think ED2 is pretty far out. they're different, though, perhaps not worth comparing.

ED1 and ED2 are actually the same movie. ED1 was made on a shoestring budget of $50,000.00 while Raimi and Campbell were still in college, and ED2 was made post college with a much larger budget of over 3 million or so. The differences between the two are actually just script rewrites.

Army of Darkness is great! I actually helped make hundreds of polyfoam skeletons with the KNB FX Group. Being on-set was fantastic! The film was actually premiered with a small meet and greet / autograph signing at a place called "Hollywood Book and Poster" (Great place for collectors), with a screening on the USC campus for cast and crew + 300 fans.

As far as Freddy vs Jason vs Ash.......It will probably never happen for several reasons, primarily the fact that there are 3 franchises involved and they all want the biggest piece of the pie. I worked on FvsJ as a sculptor/fabricator and it was tough enough for them to get that going, (a good 6 years of negotiation). It can still happen as it is still on the table, just the odds are against it.

However, Raimi is actually prepping to remake Evil Dead, the huge debate is wether or not Raimi will include Ash in the script as Campbell has aged and the original role is for a much younger man. It has been rumored that Sean William Scott may be looked at for the role.

there's good money in remakes of horror films h'wood has noticed.

i think campbell will be in it. but not as the main guy.

but i can see him in ash vs jason vs freddy if it ever gets off the ground.

bubba ho-tep was a fun movie.

Sean William Scott? Ugh. Comparably, all I can say is, thank god Spielberg sees the wisdom in keeping Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones.:)

Yeah, there has always been big $'s in horror films period......They cost next to nothing to make and always profit at the box office and beyond, not to mention the straight to video market............Cha-Ching!

I don't know that Campbell will even make an appearance in the remake (It would be nice to see but Raimi has said he wants it to be totally fresh) but there are talks that he will be Ash in "Evil Dead 4", this screenplay has been written by Sam and Ted Raimi and was set to go into developement about a year or so ago but "Spiderman 3" shelved it for now. The rumor is that it picks up right where AofD leaves off.....in S-MART.

Oh yeah, Bubba Ho-tep was great!

lollollol....Sci Fi can make some really crappy horror films.....
